10Time Doesn’t Stop When You’re Decorating
First and foremost, time does not stop when you’re having fun. If you plan to decorate your farm, be prepared to set aside in-game days or weeks to get it done. While the farm looks its best in spring and summer, this really isn’t the time to decorate since you have so much else to do.
Instead, wait around until winter if you may. With fewer crops to grow and almost a year’s worth of income to support you, our full attention can be devoted to rearranging the farm. Plus, if you need materials, you can just go out and get them.
9Structures Can Be Removed At No Cost
Next, if you decide to move a barn or coop, you don’t have to worry about wasted materials and tesserae. Head to Hayden’s farm to put your animals in daycare, then interact with the structure to remove it. You’ll be refunded with all the materials, the original blueprint, and anything that was stored inside the structure.

7Pathways Can Be Placed Under Most Objects
Oh no, you’ve done all this work just to realize you forgot to put pathways underneath! Never fear, you may still do that without having to uproot all your efforts. The textures may not load right at first, but entering another area and returning will fix that.

You’ll thank yourself in the long run since crafted items can be sold, and you can make as many decorative cakes and platters as you want. Think of all the picnic setups you can make on your farm!

The farm is vast and empty for the most part. It’s easily overwhelming and hard to know where to start. The best thing you can do is section the farm off into smaller areas and decorate them accordingly.
If you’re finding that troubling, go into your settings and adjust the zoom of the camera. This can help you see the farm as a whole instead of just a small area, or you may do the opposite if it helps you focus. Whatever your choice, remember that almost everything can be move–except your house and the statue of Caldarus off to the east.
4Turn Your House Into A Mansion
Your house is just part of your farm, but it’s where you’ll be rushing back to each night before the end-of-day 2:00 a.m. cutoff. Playing with the layout as you upgrade your house will help you create a space that flows.
If you’re anything like me, section off the bed towards the front door so you can just pop in and out to sleep. Use shelves, dressers, tables, and more to create the illusion of more rooms. As your house expands with each upgrade, you’ll eventually unlock additional wings to use for even more customization.
3Storage Doesn’t Need To Be Emptied, Just Leave It On The Ground
Hoping to move your storage chests around for better organization on the farm? Don’t bother properly emptying them out. Just break the chest with a pickaxe and everything will come toppling out. You can then move the chest (so long as it’s in your inventory) or place another one elsewhere and come back for the contents.
They won’t disappear, so they can just float there for as long as you need them to while moving things around. Just don’t forget to collect them later so they’re not in the way of any structures you want to place later.
2Use Fruit Trees To Line Pathways
Like the aesthetic of trees but not the default ones that pop up all over your farm? Plant some fruit trees to help spruce up the farm (pun intended) and act as a resource since they’ll bloom and produce fruit for your to harvest, cook with, or sell later on.
It’s also easy to remember that these are trees to keep since they have a different appearance from the regular trees that grow around town. Using them can help create space, add a pop of color, and a much-needed boost in income when the right season rolls by.
