It can be hard forsmaller games to stand outin the crowdedSteammarketplace, but occasionally, we see an unexpected titlerise through the charts. Now, we have a new contender, as the demo for Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has surpassed one million Steam wishlists.
While its concurrent player count isn’t much to look at right now, it did manage to pull in 17,100 players at once a couple of months ago. On top of that, there are now more than one million Steam users with their eye on the game, making it the 24th most wishlisted title on the storefront, according toSteamDB.
Quarantine Zone: The Last Check Goes Viral Thanks To Its Free Demo
As reported byPC Gamer, this interest was brought in by a demo dropping on Steam in May. The full launch is set for this November, with another demo coming during Steam Next Fest in October.
If, like me, this is the first you’re hearing of Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, then here’s a quick rundown. Here, the player is tasked with operating a quarantine zone in a zombie apocalypse, which means assessing survivors seeking entry. To do this, you have to check them over for symptoms of infection, and search the items that they’re trying to bring in. You also have to build and maintain the quarantine zone yourself, so it isn’t all about guard duties.
Players seem to really be enjoying the game so far, and it’s always great to see a smaller title like this take off on Steam. Recently, we saw that withSchedule 1, which is in early access. It will launch in a few years' time, but it’s already reached hundreds of thousands of players - andfound itself in some legal troublewith the publisher of Drug Dealer Simulator.
The demo for Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is still available to pick up over on Steam now.
