The Infamy system in Wildgate isnot meant to substitute for a fully ranked competitive mode.

At the time of publication,a ranked mode in Wildgate has been hinted at by devs, but it is not confirmed, nor has it been released.

What Is Infamy?

As mentioned,Infamy is a meta-progression systemthat is similar to a competitive ranking system in other PvP games like Overwatch or Marvel Rivals.

However, unlike a lot of other competitive systems, this is an opt-in system, meaning you’ll have toenable it in your settingsbefore having an Infamy rank ascribed to you.

Ship to ship combat in Wildgate.

When you do have Infamy enabled, you’ll subsequentlygain and lose points towards your Infamy rank based on wins and losses.

you’re able to also enable a handful ofother systems that track rank, like Streaks, which allows you to display certain achievements you earn outside of winning or losing in certain matches.

How To Enable Infamy

To turn on the Infamy system, simplynavigate to the ‘Customize’ tab, then ‘Misc,’ and then the ‘Player Cards’ menu.

From there, you’ll find the Infamy Badge, which is bronze.

Simplyequip the badge in either Slot One or Slot Two of your Player Card, and the system will be activated, and your rank displayed. You must keep the badge equipped for the system to work.

How Infamy Works

Once you’ve got the badge equipped, the Infamy system will take effect. From there, you’ll earn points based on victories and defeats like so:

Much like other PvP shooters, your losses are more devastating at higher ranks.

It’s ultimately a lotharder to maintain a higher rank than a lower one. For example, at the Marauder rank, you actually won’t lose any Infamy points for losses.

There are five tiers of point valuesto reach different ranks in Wildgate:

Once youhit the above point values, you’ll progress a rank.

However, even though you will lose points every time you suffer a defeat in Wildgate, you cannot fall beneath your given rank within the same month.
