With BT’s, Ghost Mechs, and human hostiles, it’s a dangerous road. However, one of Sam’s biggest hurdles is the elements. Maybe that’s why Kojima included an option to shower.
After any delivery, Sam is likely to be covered in sweat, dirt, tar, blood, or all of them; and he’s also prone to get sunburnt and frostbitten. Since he now works with a team, it goes without saying that they’d all prefer if he’d shower regularly,especially Dollman. However, one player decided that they didn’t want to waste water, and everybody hates them for it.
Death Stranding 2 Player Hasn’t Let Sam Shower In Six Chapters
RedditorResidentNew8650posted an image of their Sam, and the poor porter looks like he’s been to hell and back. Covered in dirt from all over the continent, Sam’s hair is matted with blood and sweat, not to mention what looks like severe sunburn. However they have decided not to let Sam shower for the entire game.
To add to this, they’ve revealed that their playthrough consists of “no showers, no online, no guns, no roads, brutal difficulty, Sam’s having a rough time this playthrough.” I’m not sure why they’re being so sadistic to a man who is clearly grieving.
Even the comments section couldn’t handle how poor Sam looks in the image ResidentNew8650 shared. Many begged them to let him shower, for his own sake, and for the crew of the D.H.V. Magellan. “Ew wtf, why are you doing this to our boy?” said one player. Others thought Koojima should have included a special cutscene where they all force him into the shower after it’s been too long.
Other players suggested that it might be a great way for Sam to scare away the BTs and other human combatants too, but at what cost?
