Wandering through the shifting lands ofTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll constantly cross paths with people caught in all sorts of trouble. Most aren’t shy about asking for your help, and before long, your journey becomes filled with errands, favors, and personal dilemmas tied to the lives of those scattered across the map.
But not every quest begins with you knocking on someone’s door. Sometimes the story grabs hold of you first. A stranger might call out your name, a passerby could pull you aside, or guards may stop you mid-walk and drag you into something bigger than you expected.
How To Start Tightening The Screws Quest
When youreach Cuanacht, which is the second region of the game,make your way south toward a location called Last Tree.
Here you will find a small camp, and as soon as you approach it,you will be stopped by two guards.
These guards will think you’re with the bandits that have been terrorizing them, but then they will realize that you are just a passerby.
This is when it strikes them thatmaybe you could help them identify the saboteurand uncover the mystery behind this person.
This is when theTightening The Screws quest begins.
How To Complete Tightening The Screws Quest
In the camp, there will be a couple of people that you can talk to and learn more about the situation, butthe one you really need to speak with is Mervyn,who will be standing near the bonfire.
After he confuses you with someone else,pick the first dialogue optionin order to learn about the hideout of the thugs. After you’re done talking with him, you will learn aboutthe location of the cave, which is just east of the camp.
Make your way there, and then you will findthe entrance of the cave just on the edge of the rock. Go inside.
The cave is filled with enemies, so you need to ensure you deal with them.
Progress toward theend of the cave where you will find the bandit camp, and deal with them. After you do that,look for the table there.
On it,there will be a letter called Letter Written in Coal.Pick it up, and this will complete the quest to follow up with the next one, Burdening Letter.
