Whether you’re new to thePokemon TCGor a veteran of collecting, it can be difficult to decide which products to buy from each set. While some of themost valuable modern sets like Prismatic Evolutionsare difficult to find on store shelves at all, it’s good to have a game plan for the instances when you find some stock available.
Although the obvious advice would be to buy whatever is available to you, given the set’s high demand, certain products are better options than others. Whether you’re buying these items to open and enjoy or keep sealed and displayed as-is, these are the best Prismatic Evolutions products for your money.
7Loose Packs
At the bottom of the totem pole are loose packs, as these are the most basic Prismatic Evolutions product you can get, with each pack containing ten cards from the set. While prices vary, the typical standard is over ten dollars per pack, approaching $15, which is roughly three to four times the cost of the four-dollar packs that were typical before the Pokemon TCG’s market boom.
Loose packs provide no guarantees and, combined with this set’s often disappointing pull rates, it makes loose packs the most dangerous option. However, loose packs are the most common product to find and should be left as a last resort if you’re hoping to pull a chase card.
6Mini Tins
Mini Tins are a better option than loose packs, especially if you’re able to find them at MSRP, though that’s extremely unlikely given how many people want this set. While mini-tins only come with two packs, they also include the outer tin itself, which can be used as a small storage box for cards or other items.
While this product doesn’t offer a major bonus as far as the likelihood of getting a good pull, the tin itself is gorgeous and makes for a beautiful display piece on your shelf, if that’s your thing.
5Small Collection Boxes
Small collection boxes are excellent options, as they include a variety of products, like the binder collection, the accessory pouch, or the tech sticker collection. Each box comes with a selection of about three to five packs, depending on the box, as well as the featured bonus item.
It’s hard to select a single one of these collection boxes as the best, since it largely depends on what you’re interested in. Regardless of whether you’re a binder collector or a pouch lover, Prismatic Evolutions has a collection box for you.
4Surprise Boxes
Surprise Boxes are a fun choice if you like unusual promo cards, as these products include four packs of Prismatic Evolutions and one of nine special promo cards, which will feature one of the nine Eeveelution cards. These promo cards are visually identical to regular ex’s, save for the special promo stamp on the bottom right.
Umbreon is the most valuable of these promos, while none of the others come close, but considering this box’s unusual contents, it’s a fun product to open and enjoy, given its relatively low price and assortment of goodies.
3Booster Bundles
Booster Bundles stand out as one of the best products to buy if you’re solely interested in packs, as these are typically the preferred way to buy multiple packs without shelling out hundreds for a box.
Prismatic Evolutions is also a special set and doesn’t have a standard booster box containing 36 packs like most other sets do.
While these were incredibly sought-after upon release, they should become more widely available during reprint periods, which is when you should grab some without hesitation. Whether you’re opening them or keeping them sealed, keep your eyes peeled for these in retail stores.
2Elite Trainer Boxes
The Prismatic EvolutionsElite Trainer Box is on its way to becoming one of the most valuable in Pokemon TCG history, especially its rarer Pokemon Center version. This product’s stunning artwork and stark white background make it stand out as one of the most visually appealing Prismatic Evolutions products.
While finding these at MSRP is nearly impossible, they’re incredible value at the $60 price tag, given they include 11 packs, a promo card, dice, dividers, and other useful bonuses, including card sleeves. The Pokemon Center-exclusive promo is likely to becomeone of the most valuable promo cardsin due time.
1Super Premium Collections
The Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection sits at the top of the food chain as the best Prismatic Evolutions product to buy, specifically at its MSRP. Aside from the 15 booster packs and the full art Eevee promo, this box is visually appealing as a display piece, with Eevee’s artwork glimmering in harmony with the background.
At $90 MSRP for 15 packs, theSuper Premium Collection is the best valueyou’ll find – the problem is finding them available at MSRP. Given the unlikely chance of this, these collections will increase in value over time as more are opened and others are kept stashed away as centerpieces in private sealed product collections.
