Aging is something we all have to deal with in real life, and it usually causes issues, whether with appearance, health, or other things. However, in a video game, you don’t often think that a character would suffer from it, but withTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, there is.
Asgall, who at first seems like a normal soldier, suffers from aging but doesn’t usually show it until he challenges you to a duel for fun and realizes how weak he has become. This is where you come in to help him somehow bring back his youth.
How To Start The Old Bones, New Fire Quest
You need tocomplete three bounties from the bounty board at Cuanachtbefore you’re able to start Old Bones, New Fire.
If you’re curious how to do so,simply approach the bounty boardlocated northwest and pick them up from the board.
These will point you toward the direction of the enemies that you need to defeat, but be aware these are usually tough enemies, so be prepared.
After you defeat them,make sure you collect the proofand thenhand it over to Asgall, who can be found just near the bonfire around the bounty board.
When this process is complete, Asgall will ask you for a duel,so accept and fight.You do not need to kill him, but you just need to get his health very low.
If you accidentally deal a lot of damage and kill him immediately, the quest might glitch.
At the end of the duel, Asgall will mention that he has become weak and wants to feel stronger. While your initial suggestions do not seem to knock his alley,when you suggest magic it will grab his attention.
He will ask you tofetch him a potion or an elixir that will enhance his power, but he does not know exactly from whom you may get it. He suggeststhree different people whom you can consult for that.
Each of these three people will have a different remedy for Asgall depending on what they believe, but you can only pick one medicine to give to Asgall, so there will be a choice to make here.
However, keep in mind that it seems there is no change in the reward you get or any additional reward.
How To Get The Potion For Asgall
Ailei Choice: Vigor Tea
Ailei can be found at the hospital, and when you tell her about your situation, she will suggest that you need to follow the natural way to enhance strength, but he needs to put in the effort and take the herbal tea she will give him regularly.
The recipe for the potion she gave isVigor Teaand requires two ingredients:Wolfsbane and Milkweed. you may craft it at any alchemy station or from your fueled bonfire.
After you craft this, you can head back to Asgall, tell him about Ailei’s advice,and give him the Vigor. While he might not be fully convinced about the solution you got for him, he will accept it and try it to see how it goes.
Erwin Choice: Anti-Aging Medicine
The second possible route isErwin,who can be found in the marketplace area. Speak to him at his shop stand and tell him about the issue at hand.
Erwin will suggest that you need to follow science and get a potion that might have some side effects. He will give you the recipe for it. The potion isAnti-Aging Medicineand requiresMoonshine, Mistletoe, and Burdock Root.
As before, head to any alchemy station or fueled bonfire to craft the potion.Take it back to Asgall,and he will admit this is more of the stuff he likes, as it worked immediately and he’ll be happy with this medicine.
Vrell Choice: Elixir Of Youth
The last possible route for this quest is to go toVrell and visit her at her bookstore. When you explain the situation, she will mention that yes, there is an elixir like the one he heard of, but it’s from a secret tribe, soshe will not share it with you.
However, she will give youa random recipefor a potion that will not really work for Asgallcalled Elixir of Youth. To craft it, you needMoonshine, Carnation, and Sage.
After you craft it, head to Asgall andgive it to him. He will like the feeling of it, but the potion does literally nothing, which proves the placebo effect and satisfies him.
All of the ingredients for any of these potionscan be bought from Jann Heber at Horns of the South or Erwin at Cuanacht.
You can also find most of them as you naturally explore the world and caves.
