Let’s be honest: most of us have bought into our fair share ofamiiboover the years. Whether it’s a character you love from your favorite game series, or one you’ve purchased tactfully to get the most out of one of said games, amiibo are cool figurines of the bestNintendocharacters of all time.
But some of these legendary pals don’t have amiibo yet, and man, would I splurge on getting them immediately if Nintendo ever decided to make them! From iconic series staples to notable newcomers, here are the characters whose amiibo I really wish I could buy.
10Princess Peach Showtime! Costumes
Don’t Leave These Cute Costumes Behind
We do have the Smash Peach emoji, which is adorable, of course, butPrincess Peach Showtime!gave our girl tons of new outfits, each with their own abilities. The chapters of the game saw her calling on these powers to save the day, and there are tons of good options for amiibo in there.
Imagine the powerful pose you could make Swordfighter Peach pull off, or the in-motion feeling of a Ninja Peach amiibo, or even the cute cake-based Patisserie Peach as an amiibo? As one of Nintendo’s leading ladies, it’s almost surprising we don’t havethese fun Ensemblesyet.
9Elephant Mario
What A Weird Little Guy
Super Mario Bros. Wonder gave us tons of wacky forms for some of our favorite characters to useas we traverse these levels, and the elephant form is definitely one of the most memorable. Mario and pals would use their trunks to transport water around levels to solve puzzles, and everyone looked adorably ridiculous in their elephant forms.
While I’d love to see elephant amiibo for everyone in the game, I won’t be too picky. Elephant Mario could even be popping out of a pipe, or shown triumphantly solving one of the puzzles with his trunk full of water.
8Shy Guy
Unchanged Design, Yet Still No Amiibo?
Shy Guy’s design may have changed more throughout the years like everyone else’s seems to have, if Nintendo didn’t nail him right off the bat. Shy Guy has been the little white-masked dude in the red robe since Super Mario Bros. 2 in 1988, and he remains that way even to this day.
So why wouldn’t he have an amiibo yet? It’s not like his design is really ever going to change from here! There are different colored robes, but with a character as iconic as the red Shy Guy, you could make him functional in practically any Mario game.
7Non-Smash Pokemon
Gotta Catch… A Few Of Them
Pokemon has been running since the 1990s, but even today in the mid-2020s, there are only ten unique Pokemon amiibo at the time of publishing this list: Pikachu, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, MewTwo, Pichu, Lucario, Greninja, and Incineroar.
Okay, 11, if you count the trainer just to up the count.
Only recently did we crest 1,000 total Pokemon in the series, though, so why would Nintendo limit themselves to only running the ones you can play as in Smash? There are plenty of polls working out everyone’s favorite Pokemon, so maybe amass the data and dropa few of the strongest onesthat’ll be in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
6Kamek
Sorcel Up An Amiibo
Another storied Mario character who’s been around in the franchise since the 1990s without any amiibo recognition since, Kamek first debuted in 1995 and only recently earned his stripesas a weird little driverin 2025’s Mario Kart World for the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s about time our guy got some time to shine!
But what if Kamek had his own amiibo? He’s present in dozens of Mario games, and I’m sure they could find ways to have him add some interesting perks (or even optional challenges) for players who buy his amiibo.
5The Koopalings
Bowser’s Banded Bunch
The Koopalings have been trailing Bowser since 1988 in Super Mario Bros. 3, but they’ve only gotten a handful of chances to be the stars of the show despite their overwhelming star power. With each Koopaling based on a legendary 80s pop culture icons, Nintendo could easily have some fun.
The Koopalings star in plenty of games that already have amiibo functionality, but with another Mario game surely to come in the Nintendo Switch 2’s lifetime, who can say how soon we’ll see them again?Amiibo for them would be a fun launch tie-inif the Koopalings star in the next game like they have in previous titles.
4Skull Kid
He’s Met With A Terrible Fate - No Amiibo
Don’t get me wrong, Link holding the Goron transformation mask for the Majora’s Mask amiibo is pretty cute, butwe’ve got an iconic figure in Skull Kid(and Majora). I know for a fact the former alt kids would splurge on one of these, because I am one myself and oh man, would I buy this immediately.
We’ve got plenty of Legend of Zelda amiibo already in rotation, exploring various eras and art styles, but other than Ganon, there are few villains in the series as immediately recognizable as Majora.
3Birdo
A Giant Ring, But Not An Amiibo
Birdo is kind ofthe queen of Mario spinoff titles, always appearing with her huge red bow and colossal diamond ring to play alongside Yoshi in the sports games, Paper Mario titles, and more. She’s become a mainstay in Mario Kart games, and you may have to fight your friends for her in the Mario Party series.
With a rock like that on her hand, Birdo could easily be the source of some in-game currency if players scan her amiibo, if not a cute red bow costume tie-in to give other character’s chance to look like this icon.
2Toadette
We’d Really Be Saying “Wahoo!”
Another pink cutie summoned to be a male character’s counter in the Mario series, Toadette debuted as Toad’s partner in 2003’s Mario Kart Double Dash, and she’s remained a prominent part of it since. You’ll see her mostly in side games, like Mario Kart, plenty of Mario Parties, and the Mario sports series.
But Toadette has been playable more often than not lately when we get new Mario games from Nintendo, so the Switch 2 would be the perfect time to debut one. Her bouncy braids would look beautiful on our amiibo shelves!
1Pauline
The Original Queen
I will not accept the Donkey Kong Bananza amiibo where DK is carrying child Pauline as anyone saying Pauline has an amiibo already. Sure, she debuted in 1981’s Donkey Kong along with the titular monkey, but Pauline the queen has become so much more on her own since then.
No longer is she the damsel in distress:Pauline is the mayor of New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey, coming alongway from the days of needing to be rescued by a tiny plumber jumping over barrels to save her. She can save herself, Nintendo, but she can’t help us save our money if you make her into an amiibo.
