Now, do you like your Pals huge? Some folks just want a giant beast in their party. Mammorest, for example, is a majestic titan—though not much help in water. But what if you could have a massive Pal that swims? Enter: Whalaska Ignis. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to fish up your gentle aquatic giant.

Where To Find Whalaska Ignis

Whalaska Ignis is a massive, pinkish aquatic Pal and a variant of Whalaska. Unlike the original Ice & Water-type Whalaska, Whalaska Ignis is Ice & Fire-type. One crucial thing to know is that no matter how far you travel, you won’t find this Pal roaming in the wild.It can only beobtained through fishing, and you’ll need to head to high-level zones to do so.

The lowest-level location to catch Whalaska Ignis is at a fishing spot near the No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary,located at coordinates -626, -73.You can reach this spot easily from two fast travel points.

One route is to travel northwest across the ocean from the Ruined Fortress City fast travel point, which is located north of Mount Obsidian. Alternatively, head south across the sea from the Sakurajima Island – Southern Sandbar fast travel point, found in the island’s southwest corner. At this location,Whalaska Ignis will appear at levels 40–45.

Compared to other places where Whalaska Ignis appears, the fishing spot near No. 2 Wildlife Sanctuary is the safest, though the Pal’s level is lower here. Other areas feature higher-level variants but are more dangerous.

Another place you can fish for Whalaska Ignis is Feybreak Island. You can find italong the island’s shores—excluding the southern purple-soiled zone. Whalaska Ignis here is usually level 50–55. However, if you haven’tdisabled the anti-air defenseson Feybreak Island, approaching by flying mount can be dangerous.

The highest-level Whalaska Ignis can be found at the Level 60 Rayne Syndicate Platform Oilrig, located southwest of Feybreak Island. Whalaska Ignis caught here will be level 55–60. You can fish for them at two fishing spots:

The oilrig is protected by air defenses, and it’s a high-level zone. Entering the platform is dangerous if you’re not prepared, but Whalaska Ignis can be found in the waters outside, so you don’t need to go inside.

How To Breed Whalaska Ignis

You can also obtain Whalaska Ignisby hatching aHuge Frozen Eggfound in the wild. However, if you can’t find one naturally, you can use specific Pal combinations in the Breeding Farm to produce an egg that contains Whalaska Ignis:

When Whalaska Ignis is in your party and physically following you,fishing minigames become significantly easier.The gauge will start partially filled, giving you a head start, and the gauge will fill even more when the bars overlap during fishing. If you plan to use Whalaska Ignis at your base, the best passive skill is Remarkable Craftsmanship, whichboosts work speed by 75%.If that’s not available, Artisan is also solid, offering a 50% boost.

For mount use, Eternal Engine is ideal, as itincreases max stamina by 75%, allowing longer travel. In combat, Lunker is a great option as it boosts Ice attack damage and defense by 20%.
