Not everything is black and white inTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon. Some of your choices will feel like you’re the hero liberating a nation from Kamelot’s iron fist, while others will leave you feeling like you’re on the wrong side of history. Most choices, however, fall into the middle. Do the means really justify the ends?

Well, we certainly think so – especially if you join up with the Children of Morrigan. Aligning under a greater purpose, there’s no way you can go wrong when you work together to gain a foothold in Kamelot and reshape Avalon as you know it.

Denholm thanks you for agreeing to clear out his family crypt while standing in his tent.

Where To Find Vin

Self will task you withfinding Vin and reuniting a family, in a sense. Vin is an agent who’s gone undercover tobecome Legate Denholm’s surrogate son, with the ambition to be legally appointed as his heir in hopes of gaining the Children of Morrigan a foothold in Kamelotian politics.

However, he hasn’t reported in for some time. Self sends you tofind him and figure out what’s gone wrong. Head to Cuanacht, then make your wayacross the bridge to the Kamelotian campwhere Denholm resides.

The option to lie or tell Vin the truth in his tent.

You’ll find Vin in the camp. He’s a young man in armor and looks quite troubled. When youspeak to him, he fears hemay actually be Legate Denholm’s long-lost son–which is a problem, consideringhe’s vowed to kill the father who abandoned himand his mother.

Where To Find Denholm’s Family Crypt

To get to the bottom of things, you’ll need tospeak with Denholmhimself. Upon learning what happened to his family, he admits he hasn’t gone tovisit the graves of his wife and sonsince returning to Cuanacht. Undead have taken over and he hasn’t made the journey with all his responsibilities.

Offer to do the work for him, and he’ll give you thekey to the family crypt. Travel north, to the abandoned village, and enter the graveyard. Use the key tounlock the door to the cryptand enter.

Beware ofTibby, an optional bossthat appears in the graveyard clearing!

Clear out the undead, then read through the tombstones tofind the grave of Denholm’s wife, but no sign of his child. It seems that his son is alive and well–and is most likely Vin, after all.

Should You Tell Vin The Truth About His Father Or Lie?

You now have a choice after searching all the resting places in the crypt.Return to Vinand tell him what you’ve found. While you can be honest, that’s not the best choice here. As yourtraining to become a Child of Morrigansuggested, it’s not always about being truthful or empathetic.

As a Fledgling crow, it’s your job tosee the bigger pictureand fight for it. Sometimes, that means making complicated choices. Below are the outcomes for what happens if youtell Vin the truth about his father or lieto complete the mission.

Telling Vin The Truth

If you don’t do any additional research, the only option you have is to tell the truth. Vin will thank you for proving his suspicions right, then attack Denholm.

This doesn’t go well, as you’d imagine. Deholm kills Vin, though you may still tell Denholm that he has a son…

There’s no way around this, and you’ll have to return to Self and break the bad news.

Lying To Vin

The best thing you can do islie to Vin. To do this, before leaving the Family Crypt, check the coffin in the far left corner, behind his mother’s.Read the inscriptionto learn that an entire family –including a child– is buried here.

The child skeleton won’t appear until after you read the inscription.

Take the child skeletonback to Vin and lie;tell him he isn’t Denholm’s long-lost son. Vin has a moment of clarity, realizing how he almost jeopardized the mission and his new family for a grudge. He’ll apologize for his actions and complete his mission.

Regardless of your choice, return to Self in Morrigan’s Hollow. She’ll have some choice words for you based on how things go, though ultimatelyyou’ll complete the questeither way.
