Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalonlets you explore the dark lands of Avalon, riddled with monsters, apparitions, zombies, and worse. In this merciless place, you will need as much help as you can get, but your best friends will be, by far, the multiple weapons you will discover.
During the first hours of the game, you’ll take your first steps in the Horns of the South, a region full of enemies that will try to annihilate you at every step. To avoid death, you must equip yourself with as many weapons as you can, and here we’ll tell you all about it.
8-12 Damage
How To Get
Sold by Balthazar for 120 Gold - Horns Of The South - Keeper’s Fortress.
Is it the strongest weapon out there? No, not really, butit does decent damage for the early game, which is good, asyou won’t have a wide variety ofone-handed weaponsin the first few hours. And I mean, c’mon, it’s a floppy severed hand, I don’t know what else to tell you.
Dropped by Redcaps - The Horns Of The South region.
One of the first few monsters you will find in Avalon is the Redcap, which will dropthe best possible daggers for you to start with, as their attack value is way better than the base Daggers, and you may use them for a while until you get rarer ones. You just need to kill a few, loot them, and voila! You’ll be battle-ready if Daggers are your weapon of choice.
Dropped by Grindylows - The Horns Of The South region.
However, if you prefer something more sturdy, you should kill Grindylows instead; even though they’re a bit sturdy, you can get a good weapon out of this, as these will drop their hammer as an equippable weapon. This hammerwill immensely increase your offensive potential, but at the cost of your attack speed and stamina spent, so only grab one if you’re relying on heavy attacks on your build
13-14 Damage
Lootable at the top of the watchtower in the Ruined Broch - The Horns Of The South region.
The Hexed Bow will probably be the first magical Bow you’ll encounter in the game, and while it’s not a gamechanger per se,being able to deal physical and magical damage at the same time helps you to stay versatile, as some enemies are weaker to magic than physical attacks.
10-13 Damage
Inside a chest in a dig spot at the Forgotten Cemetery - The Horns Of The South region.
If your character has a Dexterity-based build, you will want to get this weapon as soon as you can, asit enhances your Damage by 25 percent after a Dash, something you will do a lot during combat. Depending on your build, you may or may not pay attention to dashing, evading, and such, butif you hate parrying and appreciate a nimble approach to combat, then this weapon is for you.
While this dagger doesn’t have the highest Damage,it has an effect that gives you ten Gold per killed enemy, which is just useful, as itlets you rack up some money to eventually buy the rarer articles from shop vendorsat the Keeper’s Fortress. Even though the Gold gain isn’t that much,it’s certainly useful if you’re fast at killing.
40-60 Damage
Inside a chest in a dig spot, near the Tomb Of The Great Druid - Horns Of The South region.
Big Bonk, as its name indicates, certainly packs a serious punch, and whileyou need to invest 12 points in Strength to be able to use it in full effect, it’ll make your fights against multiple enemies significantly easier. Its Heavy attacks will create a shockwave that will push enemies away, giving you a gap to heal or escape if needed; however, with those damage numbers, I don’t think you’ll need it.
25-30 Damage
Lootable at the top of the watchtower in the Sunken Village near the Keeper’s Fortress - The Horns Of The South region.
By far the best weapon on the list, the Thunderous Greatbow will make you spend Mana on fully-charged arrows. However, with that cost comes a great benefit, asthose arrows will deal some whopping 30 points of damage as an AoE attack, making this bow ideal to take out groups of enemies from as far away as you want, giving you a considerable upper hand in those first early hours.
