There are quite a few Dateables inDate Everything, more than enough for you to fall in love with, and plenty for you to hate, too. You can’t expect everyone to like you, nor can you really yourself truly say you love all 100 of these dramatically different characters. Some aren’t even objects, but concepts and ideas.
And one of these concepts is Shadowlord. He is not only the concept of shadows, but the physical manifestation of shadows. However, there are so many shadows around your homre, so how are you expected to find the single one that he hides within? It’s well-hidden, but also frustratingly right in your face.
Where To Find Shadowlord
The first time you may hear of Shadowlord is from speaking with Phoenica. She gives you plenty of rumours, including that there seem to besome shadows in the home that just don’t seem natural.This refers to Shadowlord, though it doesn’t exactly narrow down where to find him. One shadow among all of them that exists? It’s like finding a needle in a haystack.
The easier way to search for him isduring the morning when it’s still brightso that all the shadows that do exist are much more stark and easy to see. The second would be toturn off every light in the game and make sure the curtains are open. This way, you can track which shadows are cast by the natural light, and find any shadows that aren’t.
You can also wear the Dateviators while looking at these shadows, and they willlight up when looking at the correct one.
If, instead, you would simply prefer where to be told where to find Shadowlord, then look no further. He is downstairs in the corner beside the piano. Specifically,he is the shadow being cast by Gaia’s globe. It is distinctly darker than any other shadow in the house, and doesn’t change no matter which lights are turned on and during any time of day.
Revealing Shadowlord’s True Form
After meeting Shadowlord, he will affectionately call you his Penumbra, andenlist your aid in helping restore him to his full strength. The spectral arms are the key to his strength, and he lost them during the Great Cataclysm. You can ask him about it if you’d like to learn more. It’s all very dramatic and tragic, a true shame for our lord of shadows.
Oh, andhis full name is also xxxShadowlord420xxx, though that’s more than a bit cumbersome to type out, so we’ll be calling him Shadowlord.
Justspeaking with him helps summon the spectral armsthat restore his strength. As such, he asks you to frequently return to him and restore him to his full strength. He will even allow you to bask in the glory of his true form should you do so.
So how do you do this? It’s pretty simple really, and you can’t actually fail at it. Just keep coming to Shadowlord each day and chat away with him. Eventually,he will acquire all of his spectral arms and reveal his true self. That said, some of the choices along the way can help you push towards a specific ending.
For example, at one point he will get you to play a game of Hanged Man. You can immediately complete this by guessing the answer as ‘Shadow’, and can thenfollow-up with a flirtatious challenge of your own. You literally have to spell it out for him, but he at least gets the message in the end. He even calls you cute in return.
Once these spectral arms are gathered, Shadowlord will reveal his true form, though he doesn’t exactly seem joyful to do so. And with good reason. Because he isn’t really the lord of shadows at all.He is just a lonely gamer. Well, he is still a shadow and has control over them, just not as quite as lordly as he made himself out to be.
Most of the things he told you were true, just played up a bit. He and his friends did drift apart in time, though it was just age catching up with them, not some Great Cataclysm. Sure, the spectral arms aren’t literally real armaments that empower him, but an idea based on game he used to play with his friends. It’s up to you whether you want to forgive him and maybe even move into a more loving relationship, or to shut him down here and now.
Oh, andhis true name is Skips. Not a fear-inducing name, by any stretch.
How To Change Your Relationship Status With Shadowlord
Like all other characters, Shadowlord, or Skips as he is eventually known, hasthree endings you can achieve. By the time he reveals himself as Skips, you will mostly be locked into an ending already. Here are all the things you need to keep an eye out for along the way to get the ending you want.
Love
To get Shadowlord to love you, you just have to play along.Show investment in his backstory, play up his great power, and throw in some flirty options when you get the chance. He is proud and boisterous, and flirting with him will never go astray. Once his true form as Skips is revealed, affirm say,state that you still care for him. Just because he’s not the lord of shadows doesn’t mean he isn’t still cute.
As with most other characters, if Shadowlord does love you,you will still have the chance to just remain as friendsor even shift towards hatred if you want to. You’re the one with ultimate power now.
Friends
Like most others,becoming friends with Shadowlord is just a step-down from Friends. Avoid the flirting options where possible, or just choose to stay as friends if he loves you. There’s not too much difference here. Maybe ask him fewer questions, or be a bit more insensitive when it comes to his reveal. He’ll still respect you, just not in an especially loving way.
Hate
When it comes down to it, Shadowlord is a gamer, and it’s not particularly difficult to earn his ire. While he will play it cool while in the Shadowlord form, he will be significantly less composed once he becomes Skips. Along the way,just be a bit ignorant of his backstory, make fun of his obvious lack of powers, and ensure you call Skips a loser once his true form is revealed. It’s harsh, but he did treat you like a sidekick and lied along the way.
If Shadowlord is the first Dateable you’ve gotten to hate you, you will at least get tomeet a brand-new Dateable afterwardsas a kind of consolation prize.
