The Shivering Isleswas originally a separate DLC, but its inclusion inOblivion Remasteredmakes jumping into this unusual world seamless. Even if you’ve only completed a handful of main story quests, the Shivering Isles will have an unusual surprise, as a man named Pyke has ties to the Cheydinhal-based Knights of the Thorn.
However, Pyke is no longer tied to the group, as he retired to start anew life in the Shivering Isles. While retiring to the Daedric Prince of Madness' realm doesn’t exactly sound like a fun time, Pyke doesn’t seem to mind it here, save for the Grummites who stole his precious medallion.
How To Start To Help A Hero
During your journeys throughout the Shivering Isles, you’ll hear tales of a former Knight of the Thorn who has taken up residence here from some of the citizens.
However, if you wantto start the quest, To Help a Hero, you’ll first need to make your way to Hale,a small settlement northwest of Milchar and the Overlook Road, but southeast of The Isle of Flame along the coast.
Once here, seek out a man named Pyke, who you’ll learn is a Knight of the Thorn.
You may recognize this as the same group Farwil Indarys (from The Wayward Knight quest) belonged to.
Pyke will explain that he came to explore the Shivering Isles, but someattacking Grummites stole his cherished medallionthat symbolized his affiliation with the venerable Knights of the Thorn, and he needs you to recover it for him.
Pyke sends you off to Fetid Grove, which is southeast of Overlook Road,on a small island surrounded by water.
