With the Tides of Terraria update,Palworldhas introduced a wave of Terraria-themed content—great news for fans of both games. But the update isn’t just about Terraria crossovers; several new Pals have also been added to the game. While some of these new Pals appear on previously existing islands, others can only be found on newly introduced mini-islands.

Palumba is a perfect example—a tropical, dinosaur-like Pal best known for its constant dancing. If you’re looking to catch this unique Grass-type Pal but aren’t sure where to start, this guide will help you track it down and add it to your collection.

Wild Palumbas are attacking to the player in Palworld.

Where To Find Palumba

Palumba is a large, dinosaur-like Pal that stands on two legs and constantly dances. It is a Grass-type Pal with a tree-like appearance. There are only two known locations where Palumba can be found, both of which are small islands introduced with the Tides of Terraria update and are located far apart from each other.

The first place to find Palumba is Eternal Summer Isle,a small island located south of Mount Obsidian. To get there, first fast travel to the Fisherman’s Point fast travel point, located on the southern coast of Mount Obsidian. From there, travel south across the ocean to reach Eternal Summer Isle.

The player is checking a Palumba inside a breeding farm in Palworld.

Wild Palumbascan be found near the large tree above the waterfallon the southern side of the island. They also appear around the teleporter on the island. The coordinates for this location are -422, -796. Palumbas here are typically between level 32 and 37. As the island is fairly small, they may spawn in various spots throughout.

The second location is asmall island east of the Dessicated Desert. To reach it, fast travel to the PIDF Tower Entrance in the desert, then head southeast. You’ll come across a narrow, east-facing coastal point. Follow this coast to its tip, thencontinue east across the water to reach a small, plant-covered islandknown as Oasis Isle.

The player uses Palumba as mount in Palworld.

This island shares a similar appearance to Eternal Summer Isle. Palumbas can be found north of the teleporter or near the large tree above the waterfall, just like on the first island. The coordinates are 885, 195, and the Palumbas here are typically around level 40 to 45. Again, due to the island’s small size, they may spawn in multiple locations.

Palumbas are aggressive and tend to roam in groups. When they spot you, they will attack.Since they are Grass-type,bringing Fire-type Pals will give you a strong advantagein combat.

The player prepares to craft a Palumba Saddle in Palworld.

There are no Alpha Palumba available in the game.

How To Breed Palumba

Another way to obtain Palumba is byhatching it from aVerdant Egg, which can be found while exploring the wild. However, if you’re unable to find one in the wild, you can also breed specific Pals at theBreeding Farmto obtain Palumba. Below are the required Pal parent combinations needed to produce Palumba:

Items Dropped By Palumba

Palumbas don’t drop particularly impressive items. When you capture or defeat a Palumba, the only item you can obtain isBone. However, Bones can also be collected from lower-level and more easily accessible Pals likeRushoarandVanwyrm. For this reason, hunting Palumbas specifically for Bones is not considered an efficient strategy.

Partner Skill & Work Suitability

Palumba’s partner skill is Samba Step, whichallows you to use it as a mount.Unlike many other mounts, Palumbamoves faster on grassy terrain.Since many early- and mid-game regions consist of grass biomes, Palumba serves as a solid land mount during these stages.

However, in the later parts of the game—where snow, volcanic, and desert biomes become more common—Palumba’s speed advantage diminishes significantly.

To ride Palumba, you’ll need to craft the Palumba Saddle, which becomes available in the Technology Tree at Level 42. Crafting it requires three Technology Points, as well as the following materials:

In terms of work suitability, Palumba is a fairly decent Pal. If you’re able to obtain one during the early stages of the game, it offers some useful work traits for your base. You can find a detailed breakdown of its suitability and corresponding levels in the table below:

Level 3

As for passive skills, if you’re planning to use Palumba primarily in your base, Artisan is a good choice. If you intend to use it as a mount, go for Runner—or even better, Swift. If you want longer riding durations, Infinite Stamina or Eternal Engine are also great options.
