Quick Links
One of the more obscure but easy-to-start sidequests inLies of P: Overturefocuses on the blind paintress, Goddard. Although finding her is easy enough, her quest is vague and doesn’t lay out clear goals for the player to follow during their time in the DLC.
As you find the items necessary to progress the quest, you’ll have to return them to Goddard and choose the right dialogue options to get the ideal ending. And of course, knowing what to do with Goddard’s reward is just as vague as the woman’s artistic vision itself. So, we’ve figured it out so you don’t have to.
Where To Find Goddard, The Blind Painter
Goddard is an easy find you’ll likely run into on your first natural playthrough. She’s locatedin the Carnival areaat the very end, rightnext to the tramthat will take you deeper into the DLC.
As you get near her, she’ll call out for you.Follow her voiceto find her in the wheelchairat the end of the station.
To get her quest moving, accept her plea for your help to retrieve her canvas. This is easily found as it is righton the ground in front of her.
Pick it up, andput it back on the easel. After, accept her thanks to get asked a question that will determine the end of this questline:
Incredible! It’s a brilliant piece of art. (Lie)
Goddard agrees and praises your “good eye.” You willgain Humanity, and thequestline will progress below.
It is just a blank canvas. (Truth)
Goddard tells you that you’re ridiculous and to leave her alone. This locks you out of her questline, and you will beunable to progress.
Where To Find Goddard’s Art Supplies
Goddard never asks you to find her art supplies, meaning that this is an item you either accidentally pick up and realize you need to use or read a guide about. And that’s why we’re here.
They can be found on a tablenext to the shortcut that leads down to theTwo-Faced Overseerin the Zelator Underground Facility.
You canreach this areaby:
Once you pick up the Art Supplies, return them to Goddardback at the tram station.
She’ll give you a Dim Ergo Chunk for the trouble of returning them, but there’s nothing else to do now. Goddard’s quest will progress naturally as youcontinue with the DLC.
Do not complete the DLC’s final boss before returning to Goddard. This will lock you out of her quest as well.
After time has passed, roughly around the time youdefeat Lumacchio, you can return to Goddard’s location to discover thatshe has died. On her easel isa completed painting.
It would be a crime to leave it there with its paintress dead, sopick up the paintingand the letter that comes with it, “To The One Within The Darkness.”
With the painting now in your inventory, open it and inspect it.This will also addthe Clear Blue Sky vinylas an additional, hidden reward.
Playing this vinyl to completionin Hotel Krat will allow you togain more Humanity.
What To Do With Goddard’s Painting
The best thing to do with any painting is to hang it somewhere for all to see.Return to Eventide Krat Hotel, andlook toward the door out to the practice gardenfrom the Stargazer.
On the right wall, where you are used to Venigni and the Legion Arm machine, there should be a large blank spot under the light fixture.Walking near that areawill automatically trigger a cutscene where the painting will be mounted.
After the DLC is completedand you have defeated the final boss, you can return to the present timeline.Go to present-day Krat Hoteland walk up to the painting.
Interact with the painting, and the colors of the paint will be refreshed and brightened. This will trigger you togain Humanity.
