Stompy Ascent is a challenge course inDonkey Kong Bananzathat can be found on SL300 of the Canyon Layer. It’s located right beside the entrance to the Mechaneck Isle Getaway in the final section of the area after you complete the Mad Mixer boss fight.
This level requires you to ride multiple platforms to the top while avoiding or defeating enemies who will try to stomp on you. Beyond trying to survive the course, there are also three hidden Banandium Gems that you should look for to earn stat points for powerful abilities and upgrades.
Where To Find The First Banandium Gem
The first Banandium Gem ishidden behind a wall during your first vertical elevator ride. The wall you need to break looks different from the rest of the structure. You’ll just need to defeat or sneak past an enemy to reach it.Hit R2 on the platform you’re standing on and throw a rockat the enemies in your way to get rid of them from a safe distance.
Where To Find The Second Banandium Gem
The second Banandium Gem isfound on top of the structure where you found the first one. Either use the barrel behind the first Banandium Gem orride the platform to the very topto find your prize waiting for you.
Where To Find The Third Banandium Gem
The final Banandium Gem islocated at the very end of Stompy Ascentas a reward for clearing the course. The final stretch of the stage is the hardest, so it’srecommended to activate Kong Bananzato give you the strength to punch through the tough enemies in your way.
How To Complete Stompy Ascent
When you step onto the first platform,immediately use R2 to rip out some of the groundbeneath you. You canthrow this at the enemies ahead of youto take them out before they can even reach you. It shouldtake you one or two throws per enemyto defeat them during this first stretch.
The second half of this course islonger and includes more enemies, whowon’t be damaged if you try to throw pieces of the groundat them. While you’reon the horizontal platform, useR2 to grab some stone, thenuse Y to swing the rock to destroy the throne platformsthe enemies are on to make them drop before they have a chance to attack you. You can alsothrow stones to destroy the thornsfrom a safe distance.
When you reach theplatform that moves up,activate Kong Bananza, andhold Y to use Charge Punch on the enemieshere to knock them out in a single blow. You’ll complete Stompy Ascent once you reach the top of this tower.
