Secret Tapes are a staple collectible in the franchise, andTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4has a massive stack waiting for you to paw through. The only catch is that youwillhave to find them first. Secret Tapes tend to be a little harder to find than the SKATE letters and stat points. Hell, even when youdofind them, you’ll need to figure out how to get to them. And that’s what we’re here for!
We’ll show you where to find each tape, and we’ll tell you the best way to get to them. While these tapes can be pretty tricky, we’ll help you make short work of them so you can do the work of dusting off your VHS player and watching some classic skate parts.
Where To Find Every Secret Tape In Every Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 Stage
You’ll be shooting for six Secret Tapes in total here. Half of these will also require that you unlock their respective stages' secret sections. One thing to keep in mind is that some of these require you to grab quite a bit of air. So, you will want tomake sure you have your special bar primed and ready. Additionally, investing some points into your hangtime and air stats will make your life easier.
Tape Location
Foundry
From the start of the stage, leap onto the walkway on your right, and follow it to the room with the glass walls. From here, you should be able to see theSecret Tape sitting in the middle of a beam.Blast through the window, grind the beam to snag the tape.
Canada
Follow the path marked with the SKATE letters to the dock and grind past the machine to raise the halfpipe. Now, take the raised halfpipe to the bridge above the dock. Once there,grind along the railroad rail closest to you. This will cause you to hit the Secret Tape dead-on.
Suburbia
After you break into thebackyard of the haunted house, square yourself up with the back window of the haunted house. Ride the ramp up to it, then grind the flag pole straight to the Secret Tape.
Airport
Barrel through the airport until you reach the area with the boarding gates. This Secret Tape is hovering above a rail on the right side of the area. Ride up one of the nearby ramps andgrind the railabovethe one holding the flags. As long as you can hold the grind, you are on a collision course with the tape.
Los Angeles
Once you’ve caused the earthquake (by hittingthe four red railssurrounding the library), grind the cable that leads to the roof of the library. This cable is directly to your left when you start the stage. From here, you canjump onto the overpass.
Launch yourself off the plywood ramp on the overpass. You may want toinvest in a better hangtime and air stat. Now, hop over the gap, and grind the ledge of the building you land on. This will take you directly to the Secret Tape.
Cruise Ship
At the beginning of the stage,grind the cable that connects the upper deck to the halfpipewith the helicopter hovering above it. The Secret Tape is hovering above the halfpipe. Just perform an aerial trick and you should snag it.
Where To Find Every Secret Tape In Every Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 Stage
There isone more Secret Tapeto collect in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 section of the game. Naturally, sincethere are fewer hidden areas in general, most of these Secret Tapes do not require you to have unlocked hidden parts of the stage. Though there are still two that do. Worry not, we’ve linked the pertinent information where applicable!
College
From the beginning of the stage, head straight across the college campus.Once you encounter the white tower on your left,grind the handrail to get over the stairs, and head to the backside of the tower. There is an entrance back here. Skate through it and you will be teleported to the top.Just grind the wireand you will hit the Secret Tape with ease.
San Francisco
Head to your left at the beginning of the stage, and skate up the ramp to get to the second floor. Now, take a left and head for the ramp, then,when you are midair, transfer to the ramp on your right. From here, hop across the gap, grind the hotel’s sign, and hop over the gap and grind the planter. This will take you directly to the Secret Tape.
Alcatraz
After you have unlocked the door to the cells, enter the prison, and take one of the ramps up to the second floor. You’ll see the Secret Tape hovering above a rail that runs underthe window on the left. Grind that rail to get the tape.
Waterpark
With the arcade unlocked, from the starting area, head straight, then take a right.Enter the doorway marked Entrance, and you will be taken to a massive slide.Take it down, but don’t leave it.Instead,head up the back of the slide:the Secret Tape is hovering above.Ride up the wall for as long as you may,only jump once you start losing momentum.
Shipyard
you may find this Secret Tapefloating between the two rooftops of the central buildingsof this stage. Take a left from the starting point, then take your first right. There should be an entryway on your left now. Head through it and you will be on the roof.Look for the duct exhaust, and you will see the tape floating in front of it. Just hop down and grab it.
London
From the starting point, head dead ahead.Use the statue in the middle of the park as a ramp,and grind the wire traveling toyourright. This will take you to a halfpipe, launch up the side of it, and transfer midair into the bowl beside you. The Secret Tape is floating above this bowl. Just catch some air and you will be able to nab it.
Pinball
From the starting point of the stage, take a left. You’re going to travel to the other side of the pinball table. What you are looking for, more specifically, isa ramp heading up the wall that is styled to look like a cracked road. Ride up that ramp and transfer to the quarter pipe on your left. Look for a large, multicolored ramp. Launch yourself off that ramp and grab the Secret Tape in the air.
