There are a couple of ways to heal yourself (and the entire party) inClair Obscur: Expedition 33. you may either rest at an Expedition Flag (respawns every non-boss enemy in the area) or use the Chroma Elixir if you are outside a combat zone. When you start the game, you have only one Chroma Elixir, but you can increase its capacity by finding a Tint calledChroma Elixir Shard.
These upgrades are always found inside Paint Cages, sealed off by three locks in the vicinity. This guide will help you get all four additional Chroma Elixirs in the game.
Flying Waters
N/A
You will get this Chroma Elixir asa part of the story. Immediately after entering the Flying Waters area, you willsee a massive statue of a fishwith an anchor tied to its tail. This is where you will beintroduced to the Paint Cages mechanic. You will need tobreak three locks in the surroundings to openthe Paint Cage, and claim the Chroma Elixir inside.
To break a lock, simply use Free Aim (LT / L2 on consoles and RMB on PC) and shoot it (RT / R2 on consoles and LMB on PC) once.
For this Chroma Elixir, the first lock isattached to the fish’s tail, the second lock isby the brass pillar near the Paint Cage, and the last lock ishidden amidst the vines toward the rightof the Paint Cage.
Ancient Sanctuary
Giant Bell Alley
From the Giant Bell Alley, head down thepath with a buried dome-like structure.
You will have to deal with a Catapult Sakapatate and a Robust Sakapatate in this area, so prepare accordingly!
Once you have dealt with the enemies, go to thearea with some debris(robotic parts, rusted cars, etc.) in the center. This is where you will findanother Paint Cage sitting on a rock on the right.
The first lock is hiddenbehind some crateson the right, the second one isbehind two trees in the back, and the final lock ison a rock on the left side of the robotic parts.
However, this one is not easily reachable like the others. To claim this Chroma Elixir, return to the buried dome-like structure, and follow the nearbypath concealed by some trees. Use the Golden Rope to get down, andjump across the platforms to collect it.
Stone Wave Cliffs Cave

After entering the cave, head down the only path you may take. Grapple across the first gap, and keep on following the area. After the second grapple point, cross the bridge, and go through thecrawlspace on the right. Use theGolden Rope to head up, and you will find the Paint Cage in plain sight.
The first lock ison the blimp on the right, the second one ison the falling blimp directly behind the Golden Rope, and the last one isto the left of the Paint Cage. Shoot all three locks to claim the third Chroma Elixir.
