Shovels, likepickaxes, have multiple purposes,with plenty of buried treasure to find across the Horns of the South and beyond.
Unfortunately, shovels are one of those items that you tend to find everywhere when you don’t need them and elude you completely when you do, but we’ve tracked down a few specific shovel spawn locations in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon to help keep your journey moving.
What Is The Point Of Shovels?
Shovelsare multipurpose items that weigh2.7 units, are worth 14 coins,and are considered botha weapon and a tool.
As atool,a shovel can be used todig up treasureand other items. As aweapon,shovels can inflict 3-11 damage per hit at base, making them anaverageweapon at best.

What Are The Best Places To Find Shovels?
Shovels are scattered throughout the world and are especially prevalent during the opening tutorial section, but unfortunately, you likely won’t realize their necessity until after this area.
Assuming you forgot to grab a shovel along the way in the opening section, we’ve outlined a handful ofquick and easy locations to find shovels in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
Horns Of The South – Hefin’s Shop
Once you make it to the Horns of the South fortress, head southwest along the outer border to theVillagearea. Descend to thecoast and speak to a merchant named Hefinwho runs a shop directly on the beach.
Buythe shovel fromHefin for 14 coinsand you’ll be set.
The All-Mother’s Shrine
Alternatively, go tothe All-Mother’s Shrine near the peninsulafast travel point in the south,southeast of the East GateandBlood Lake.
You’ll finda shovel stuck in the groundhere after you defeat two enemies.
Near The East Gate Gallows
You’ll spot a shovel sticking out of the ground justnorthwest of the East Gate,near theGallows.
You can ignore the enemies nearby and sneak up to grab the shovel.
Horns Of The South – Orlaith’s Shop
If you’re already in theHorns of the South Fortressand don’t feel like traveling far, you can head over toOrlaith,the merchantnear the fortress entrance,and buy a shovel from her.
Orlaith’s prices are cheaper if you perform a small task for her, so this is likely the cheapest price you’ll find for a shovel.
The Forgotten Cemetery
In the Forgotten Cemetery area of the Horns of the South, head to theSmall Crypton the western side and enter.
About 50 feet into the crypt,you’ll encounter an enemy anda shovel sticking out of the dirtnearby.
Cuanacht – Alwyn’s Shop
If you’ve made it toCuanachtand still haven’t gotten a shovel, head toAlwyn in the center of the Cuanacht Main Squareand purchase one from his shop.
Wherever you choose, these locations are near fast travel points and should be easy to reach.
