What Is Frost?

In Peak, environmental hazards play a role in shaping the climbing experience, and one of the most important to understand is Frost.Frost is a stamina-draining effect.

Frost In The Fog

Frost occurswhen you enter the fog, apersistent and rising weather conditiondesigned to pressure you into climbing efficiently.

Thefog acts as a soft time limit, gradually getting closer to youandascending the mountainas you climb. If itcatches up to you,Frost will begin to take effect, steadily depleting your stamina over time.

Stopping Frost is dependent on where you are experiencing it.

How To Stop Frost From The Fog

To avoid Frost, thebest strategy is to maintain a steady paceandstay ahead of the fog’s progression. Efficiency in movement and minimizing mistakes are key to staying safe.

However, if you prefer a more relaxed or exploratory experience, Peak does provide anoption to disable the fog. In the game’s Gate Kiosk in the airport, you can turn off the time limit fog entirelybyselecting the Tenderfoot option. Doing so will prevent the fog from rising, thereby removing the Frost effectand allowing you to climbwithout any time-based pressure.
