The races can get quite intense inUmamusume: Pretty Derby, and the stats on your racers play a major role. Balancing the right stats will lead you to victory, so it’s important to understand how they work to make sure your trainees are successful.
Races require speed, as it all comes down to who was the fastest. However, things are not as simple as maintaining your speed; you need to consider other factors. Activating your Umamusume’s skills also requires Wits, so don’t forget it to get an upper hand, when you need it the most.
What Does Each Stat Do?
There arefive statsin Umamusume: Pretty Derby that will improve your racers' performance in a match. The final outcome will be decided by all of them, so youcan’t simply focus on only one of them.
Speed
Speed is an obvious choicefor a racing game, as this will determine how fast your Umamusume can run during a match. You will quickly fall behind if you don’t have enough of it, soprioritize this stat the most.
However, the way stats work in the game is complex, and to maintain your maximum speed, you will be relying on other stats.
Stamina
Running requires a lot of stamina, and you definitely don’t want to run out of it during a race when you are just about to win.
Losing stamina has some repercussions onmaintaining your speed, so even if you were leading the race, you will lose your position quickly. So, you will need tofocus on it as your second priorityafter speed.
Power
As the name suggests, power is the physical strength of your Umamusume. It’s not to be confused with stamina, aspower also has a detrimental effect on your stamina. Power lets your Umamusume quickly reach their maximum speed.
Your racer may berunning at maximum speed, but they might not be able to maintain itfor long. You do need Power to get ahead of your opponents, so thisstat should be your third priority, but make sure you have enough stamina.
Guts
The final stretch of the race is the crucial moment, but you may find yourself running out of stamina here, which may throw you off.
To avoid losing your position, it’s agood idea to focus on Guts to keep up your current momentum. It’s not a very important stat; if you have all the other balanced out, you probably won’t even need it, sofocus on it the least.
Wit
Witincreases the chances of your Umamusume activating a skill, which may make all the difference during a race. It may not be as important if you are confident in your Speed, Power, and Stamina will win you the race. However, they may make up for the deficiencies in other stats.
It also lowers the chances of yourUmamusume getting affected by Rushed. This is a status effect that makes them lose stamina as they suddenly run faster, when they don’t really need to.
