Use The Moon To Boost Your Stats And Fuse Better Devils
Throughout the game, you’ll see the phase of the moon in thetop corner of your screen, but it’s important to note that this isn’t quite time-based like some games. Since the different areas of each neighborhood in the Capitol are broken into individual screens, you’ll find thatthe phase of the moon changes when you move between screens.
For example, if you leave Narumi Detective Agency and go towards Kounno-ya, this counts as moving between screens, which you’ll often seewhen the camera angle changes(as doesthe name of the areain another corner of the screen). If you leave Raidou stationary on a single area’s screen, time will not pass no matter how long he stands still, so you’ll need to do a little pacing to move things along.
If you need to pass time quickly, it’s best to leave and re-enter neighboring screens to keep changing the phase of the moon - this will be important during a few points in the game for story purposes.
Demonstrate Relies On The Moon
If you’re fighting alongside a Skill Order demon, you can expect them to have the Passive Skill of Demonstrate, which aligns with the phases of the moon to offer different effects. You can expect to have your HP and MAG restored, have an item in your inventory transmuted into something else (for better or worse - this can be a gamble), or even earn some cash.
Additionally, you’ll have gotten more than few demons with helpful Passive Skills in your tubes before long, and two that you ought to keep an eye out for areScavenger and Loose Change, which allow demons tofind items and money, respectively, while following Raidou around in the overworld as he explores the Capitol. You’ll receive higher payouts of yen during Full Moons inRaidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, and better items from devils with Scavenger. There are drinks thatimprove one stat specifically, with options for Strength, Magic, Vitality, and Luck all on offer, and you can buy each one for a blanket boost if you’ve got the yen to do so. As you buy more sodas, the owner will gradually grant access to special recipes, too, so the more you buy, the more youcanbuy.
The Goumaden Is More Prone To Fusion Accidents
Finally, you’ll find yourself more prone to experiencingaccidents during the fusion processaccording to the lunar calendar, with bothNew and Full Moonsincreasing the chances of not getting the devil you were trying to fuse. Additionally, you’ll find that the demon youdoend up with hasimproved statsthan if you’d fused that demon using its regular fusion recipes. This is pretty commonin Atlus JRPGs, so you may already be familiar coming into the game.
You’ve likely already logged a Mitama Order devil before long, but theeffects of Mitama fusions are improvedduring the Full Moon as well, so be sure to capitalize on the free stat boost whenever you can - just beware that things may go awry, and thatboost ends up going to a demonyou had no intention of fusing just then.
