When Ultra Beasts debuted assome of the standout Sun & Moon era cardsin thePokemon TCG, they were met with some excitement, though the gimmick faded after the next generation of games released. While Tag Team cards are undoubtedly some of the most valuable in the Pokemon TCG, there aren’t many that feature Ultra Beasts.
Even with the lack of variety, the Ultra Beasts who werelucky enough to receive Tag Team cardsinvaluable sets like Unbroken Bondsstand tall as some of the most sought-after of their kind. Alt Arts still capture our attention and our wallets, but there are some unusual Ultra Beasts cards to enjoy.

8Naganadel GX: Forbidden Light (Secret Rare) – $11.18
The Beasts Begin
Naganadel squeaks into the top spots as one of the most valuable Ultra Beast cards on the market, though it’s worth mentioning that there aren’t many to choose from. Since Ultra Beasts were part of the Sun & Moon era’s trademark gimmick, we don’t often see these Pokemon appear in the TCG.
Even though the pickings are slim, it’s hard to argue that Naganadel deserves more than this placement. That’s not necessarily a knock on this card, but the rest of the best Ultra Beast cards offer even stronger designs and unique stamps.
7Stakataka GX: Celestial Storm (Secret Rare) – $12.06
Counting Stacks
Stakataka is another Rainbow Secret Rare that was an iconic part of the Sun & Moon era cards, as another Ultra Beast fully leans into the popular-at-the-time design choice. However, this Pokemon’s simple and mostly gray color palette makes it a welcome choice for some rainbows.
This is probably the most friendly a Stakataka will ever look, as its usual appearance and color choices give it a drab, intimidating design that starkly contrasts with this card.
6Tapu Fini: Prerelease Promo (Staff) – $17.03
A Technicality
Let’s switch gears away from the Rainbow Secret Rares from the Sun & Moon era, as there are plenty of other unique card styles to enjoy. One such style is this Tapu Fini Staff Prerelease Promo, which was given out in celebration of Unified Minds' release.
Even though these promos are exceptionally rare, the relatively low value makes it a fun but affordable card to collect.
While the Tapu guardians have a distinct naming convention, we’ve included them here, given their close connection to Ultra Beasts and Ultra Space.
5Pheromosa & Buzzwole GX: Unbroken Bonds (Secret Rare) – $17.09
Rainbows Running Wild
From single subjects to dynamic duos, this Pheromosa & Buzzwole Secret Rare set a new standard for the best Ultra Beast cards out there. Two of the most popular choices appear on one card, as their contrasting appearances make Pheromosa and Buzzwole a fun pairing.
Unfortunately, the rainbow design makes it a little annoying to separate each of the Pokemon designs on this card. Given the amount of star power on display, it’s clear the color design of this card is the weak link, keeping the value in check.
4Buzzwole: Prerelease Promo (Staff) – $17.52
All About Exclusivity
Speaking of Buzzwole, this Ultra Beast rocks out on the solo side of things with this rare Cosmic Eclipse prerelease staff promo. As you may have noticed, the ‘Staff’ stamp present in the corner of this card and the Tapu Fini indicate that you can only get this card if you’re a staff member at a designated event.
This card’s exclusivity, like Tapu Fini’s version, increases the value and makes this version even cooler to collect. Expect this card’s value to keep rising given its rarity and clean design.
3Silvally GX: Cosmic Eclipse (Secret Rare) – $20.16
Another Secret Worth Keeping
Silvally, also known as Type: Null, is an unusual Ultra Beast that belongs to Gladion, the trainer pictured on this card. As is the case with most Rainbow Secret Rares with complex designs, the colors don’t exactly do this card many favors with Gladion and Silvally blending into each other.
Despite the busy design, this card’s value is fairly strong, but the regular full art version to come stands head and shoulders above this card in visual clarity.
2Silvally GX: Cosmic Eclipse (Full Art) – $39.89
Partner Perfection
Following up on the previous Silvally GX is the full art version, which has become one of themost expensive cards you can pull from Cosmic Eclipse.Considering Cosmic Eclipse’s constant climb in value, it’s likely that this card will continue to rise until it hits the $50 mark.
Although its value could rise or fall, there’s no way this card’s visual appeal will lose out to any of the Rainbow Secret Rares. This artwork is so much sharper, it’s hard to find many reasons not to buy this card over its Secret Rare variant.
1Pheromosa & Buzzwole GX: Unbroken Bonds (Alternate Full Art) – $50.65
Here Comes The (Ultra) Sun
Pheromosa and Buzzwole return to snatch the top spot away from Silvally as the most valuable Ultra Beast card in the Pokemon TCG. These Pokemon exist in perfect harmony on this sunny day in Alola, as their original color palettes shine through along with the bright rays of the sun.
This card claims a major lead as the most expensive Ultra Beast card and is likely to remain on its perch unless there’s a major shift in popularity for Silvally.
