Baldur’s Gate 3is a truly incredible game, and that isfully reflected in its staggering longevity. Despite being an almost two-year-old, single-player RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3 is somehow still managing toreach peaks of over 70,000 players on Steam, eclipsing modern releases likeMonster Hunter WildsandElden Ring Nightreign.

It helps that it’s pretty long, there are plenty of reasons to replay the game thanks to all the classes you can try out, and it’s beengetting pretty regular updates that add a bunch more stuff. You can easily spend hundreds (if not thousands) of hours trying to see everything that Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer, and it seems as though that’s exactly what people have been doing.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s Average Playtime Revealed By Larian

We can access a lot of info about certain games thanks to sites like SteamDB, but when it comes to how long the average person spends playing a game, only the developers are privy to that kind of information. Thankfully, Larian Studios is a lot more transparent than your average developer, and the studio’s director of publishing - Michael Douse -recently revealed on Twitterexactly how much time we’ve all been wasting away.

According to Douse, the median time for Baldur’s Gate 3 on Steam is a whopping 62 hours and 55 minutes. That means you would need to play the game for just over 60 hours if you want to be one of the average Baldur’s Gate 3 players.

In the replies to Douse’s tweet, we can see some of the players guilty of jacking up this average, with many showing off their playtime for the game on Steam, which range from a few hundred hours to a few thousand. It’s an incredible statistic for a single-player RPG, and it’s unlikely we’ll see another game manage this feat outside of maybe Cyberpunk 2077. Truly a one-of-a-kind game.
