Warhammer 40k’s big yearly gaming showcase, Warhammer Skulls, has just concluded and came with a ton of announcements, including a Definitive Edition for Dawn of War, the reveal of Boltgun 2, and a remaster of the first Space Marine.
Although Warhammer 40:000 may primarily be known for its humongous tabletop legacy, its world is one that’s been translated to pretty much every medium. Perhaps the biggest example of this is video games, as there are new releases set in andbased on the world of Warhammer pretty much everywhere you look.
To celebrate this, Games Workshop has been hosting a yearly showcase for Warhammer 40k calledWarhammer Skulls that focuses on everything game-relatedthat’s being done with the series.2025’s iteration, which is the ninth overall, of that showcase just ended, and it didn’t disappoint thanks to a ton of big announcements and reveals.

And Boy, Was There A Lot
With such a massive showcase, it’s tough to know where to begin, but one of the most popular Warhammer games of all time getting a re-release seems like the best way to do it. That’s right,Warhammer 40:000: Dawn of Waris getting a Definitive Edition that launches later this year. It’ll be enhanced from the original and even come with full monitor resolution, putting a new shine on a 21-year-old game.
Speaking of putting a new shine on an old game, Skulls also confirmed that the firstSpace Marinegame is getting a 4K enhanced edition for PC,Steam, andXbox Game Passcalled Warhammer 40:000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition. That’ll be launching on June 10, while a new Siege mode for its sequel, Space Marine 2, is coming on June 26.
Skulls wasn’t just about old games getting a shine up, though, as there was also aworld premiere of the sequel to Warhammer 40:000: Boltgun, aptly named Boltgun 2. Combine that with the reveal of Owlcat’s next cRPG after Rogue Trader, Warhammer 40:000: Dark Heresy, and it made for a showcase full of exciting announcements, for games both new and old.
Those were thebigheadlines for Warhammer Skulls 2025, but that was from everything the showcase announced. Some of the other announcements included the name of the new DLC forTotal War: Warhammer 3, Tides of Torrent, anew major update for Battlesector, the arrival ofVermintide 2 to Game Pass as part of Skulls, a new faction coming toBlood Bowl 3, and even more.
