Throughout its decade-plus run, there was no shortage of limited-editionXbox 360consoles either being sold or given away to go alongwith the sheer number of high-quality titles releasedonMicrosoft’s console. Some of these consoles were themed afterGears of War, while others put the spotlight onHalo.
The tradition hasseemingly continued on the Series X, with limited-edition hardware routinely being given away on social media.
That said, few consoles were as rare as a pair of 360s that were designed in celebration of 2008s The Dark Knight movie and given away at a fast-food pizza chain. Now, one of them could be yours, courtesy of a lucky winner.
This Joker-Themed Xbox 360 Is Way Too Cool To Be Sitting In A Closet
As first shared on Reddit, x_WishYouWereHere_x is the proud owner of a Joker-themed Xbox 360 console that they won all the way back in 2008 via a contest from Domino’s Pizza. Having sat on the console for over a decade, and in need of money, they enlisted Reddit to help them figure out how much it’s worth.
To preface, Domino’s Pizza created a total of 150 Dark Knight-related consoles, of which 110 were given away in an online game.Per a 2008 press release, “The Cards Tell the Tale” game put up 110 consoles for giveaway, including the one in the Reddit post. It’s unclear what happened to the remaining 40.
Unfortunately, given how few consoles are in circulation, a concrete price is not available. However, just a few months ago, in April, someone was able to sell their console for $2,000, making it likely that the owner will be able to net somewhere around that figure. If having a cool piece of video game-related history is up your alley, then it could be on the market very soon.
