Despite being a remaster,Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4has a decent chunk of new content to discover. The remaster’s developer, Iron Galaxy, was empowered to create three original levels, including the now-beloved Waterpark level that is crammed full of references, including a controversial nod to Guitar Hero.

There’s also Doom Guy, a returning skater from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. He’s available with the digital deluxe edition of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 as Doom Slayer. At the time of the original’s release, Activision were the copyright holder of Doom, which is what enabled Doom Guy’s inclusion

ZeniMax Media would then purchase id Software and Doom, before being bought out themselves by Xbox. With Xbox’s later acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, Doom and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater once again have the same parent company, enabling the same crossover 24 years later.

But enough about that particular Xbox-owned first-person shooter series protagonist, the esteemed community of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 has already added an even better character.

Finish the Grind

As posted byMint Blitz on X, you can now play as Master Chief. Instead of a regular skateboard, John-117 is equipped with a tiny scorpion tank. The tank is surprisingly agile, allowing Chief to grind on rails and kickflip to his heart’s content.

I think it’s fair to say that Chief could easily shred while fighting the Covenant, but there’s no way that Tartarus or any of the Covenant’s rogues' gallery could stay on their board while trying to fight Chief.

This modis available on Nexus Modscourtesy of VinnyHaw, with Chief’s model replacing the eponymous Tony Hawk. With the relative ease of replacing models in video games, it’s all but guaranteed that PC players are going to have a massive selection of modded characters to choose from after a few months.

The question is, who will I be skating with today? Sora, Kha’Zix or Hideo Kojima?
