Nice Day For Fishingmay sound like a cozy fishing game from its name, but you will find elements of a challenging RPG packed in it. It requires you to be patient with your attacks, as of course, fishing is a patient activity, but that definitely doesn’t mean you should take it easy. Here, it means you need to focus on the timing and attack at the right moment.
There are many fish in the sea, and you play as an NPC who is deeply passionate about it. The only way he can save the world from the evils is through fishing. There are several characters who will help you out on your journey, but knowing a few things before you start the game will save you a lot of trouble.
Do Not Mash The Attack Button Too Fast
A core mechanic in Nice Day For Fishing requires you toquickly press the attack buttonto deplete the fish’s HP to successfully catch it. You may be tempted to mash it too fast, butwe do not recommend it, as it becomes harder to stop when the fish turns around for an attack.
You maydeplete a significant amount of your line’s healthif you press attack during this time. Sometimes this may even damage you more than the fish’s attack. So prepare your reflexes to let go at any moment. You also need towait to mash the attack button again, as most fish won’t be done after a single attack. While the fish is in attack mode, you will also beprompted to parry or dodge.
If you find parrying hard, you can keep holding the dodge button till the fish is out of its attack phase.
Use The Attack Spells First
Magic, especially the attack spells, can damage a fish significantly. It charges slowly, and you also need stamina. So,use them first and move to regular attack.That way you’ll probably have your spells charged again sooner rather than later.
This is particularly helpful in boss battles that have a massive health bar, leading you torely on your spellsthat much more.

Take Time To Level Up
While you progress through quests, you will only have a few opportunities to catch fish. As you progress, you reach the first boss, but you will findyourself severely below the recommended level. So you will most likely lose in your first attempt.
Your level will bearound six by the time you reach it, but we recommend increasing it to at least tento easily defeat it. Always take time to level up before you face a strong foe. Sometimes, you are also required to catch particular fish, but some of them, particularly those in the lower levels, are much harder to catch. Werecommend leveling up to the suggested level, which you will see above any fish.
Check Out Your Surroundings
The NPCs are full of wisdom and useful hints, which can help you when you are stuck, so it’s always a good idea to chat with them. You may evenfind helpful items lying around the map, which you’re able to use while fishing for helpful effects like healing yourself from status ailments.

Adjust Line Range
Your line is cast a bit further from your boat location, so it’s generally a good idea tocast it from approximately three blocks away from the point you are aiming for.This will save you the trouble of going back and forth trying to get your line where you need it.
After you progress a little further in the early game,streams will unlock, which will make it harder to get the line deeper to the exact placewhere you need it. The streams willconstantly change the line’s direction and place, so you need to use your directional controls inside the water to move it up or down. If your line is a bit displaced, you canadjust it by entering a stream and quickly pressing the down or up buttonwherever you need it.
Get Better Gear
Two stats matter the most in Nice Day For Fishing, namely thehealth of your fishing line and your stamina. So, you will need gear to maximize them by purchasing and finding new gear, which will also prepare you to catch tougher fish and defeat harder bosses.
Getting a better rod will increase your attack power, so if you can spare extra money, you should get one when you can. You should also attempt to catch all fish in an area andtalk to The Statue of Thidon to get new powerful spells.
The attack and defense stats are also important, but they are secondary to health and stamina. You can avoid most of the damage with dodging and parrying, but running out of health will cause your defeat. Stamina is also needed to cast spells, which makes battles easier.
Leave Items For The Final Phase Of The Boss Fight
Do notexhaust all your resourcesduring the early phase of the battle. The last phase of a boss is much tougher to deal with. The aggressive enemy will keep attacking you with constant attacks, barely giving you room to attack.
Save up a couple of potionsto recover your health, so you won’t die while you are close to defeating it. You should alsouse any buffing items that you own at this pointto avoid dealing with the last phase of the boss for too long.
