Nintendocan’t get much right when it comes toMario Kart Worldright now. After pushing out an update which removed the only way to get guaranteed three lap tracksin online multiplayer, Mario Kart fans thought they’d successfully got Nintendo to buckle under the pressure, as a new update that came out yesterdayfinally reduced the number of transmission trackson the select course screen.

Mario Kart World was poised to become the game that everyone wanted again, but that was before fans noticed a pretty significant change to the game’s single-player modes that were included in the update too.In the patch notes, it was revealed that Mario Kart World’s CPU characters were being made easier across every single-player mode besides Battle.

While never specified, this was likely a change introduced to try andcombat complaints about item spam that have been circling social mediafor a little while. Unfortunately, most Mario Kart World players seem to agree that Nintendo took things way too far, with the game being called a “snooze fest”, and fans claiming that Nintendo has now “ruined single-player”.

Mario Kart World Fans Aren’t Happy With The Game’s Easier CPU

Reddit user Deibd98 is one such individual, who posted several screenshots of themselves absolutely crushing the competition during one of their races, starting at first and then never leaving for its entirety. In their post, they say that they “may as well play 50cc” and that it was refreshing how “aggressive” the CPUs were before the change.

In a different post,a Reddit user called Suitable_Suit_1350thinks that the CPU nerf was “a bit much”, and is now upset that they feel “brainless” compared to how they were. Both threads are full of similar comments from other Mario Kart World fans, annoyed that the game’s difficulty has been reduced, along with calls for Nintendo to add more difficulty modes.

Unfortunately, this is likely a result of Mario Kart World just being a game designed for kids and family members first and foremost. It’s unlikely that a few complaints about item spam caused Nintendo to radically alter the game’s difficulty, and it is more likely that the company just knows that fewer people can handle the more aggressive AI. It does suck for those that want a tougher challenge though, but here’s hoping that Nintendo brings back 200cc for all you speed freaks out there.
