Animecharacters being greedy isn’t too rare. You will often find this trait in the bad guys of an anime. Greed can come in many shapes or forms, with most characters being greedy for power and money. The key aspect that makes a character greedier than the others is how far they are willing to go for their own selfish desires.

Of course, even the good guys can be greedy. However, this kind of greed is slightly different because these characters rarely sacrifice others for their desires. Instead, their greed is often driven by ambition and personal goals that don’t necessarily harm others.

Muzan is the King of Demons, the first of his kind, and the one who created all other demons. His selfish desire for power and immortality knows no bounds. Not only is he greedy, but he also lacks empathy for any of his victims. Muzan even kills fellow demons with no remorse.

Muzan is the type of character who would go to any lengths to fulfill his goals. He has already spread terror throughout the world and taken the lives of thousands of innocent people. Muzan is a great example of an evil and greedy character.

Hisoka is the anti-hero from Hunter X Hunter with some highly questionable morals. He is obsessed with fighting and gets incredible pleasure from the mere thought of facing astrong opponent. Interestingly enough, he prefers to keep things one-on-one and dislikes any interferences.

Naturally, Hisoka’s greed for fighting stronger opponents knows no bounds. He goes as far as to nurture Gon to be a strong opponent for him. He tries to keep him alive and even helps him out at times. He is certainly one of the most selfish and greedy characters out there.

Isagi is one of the very few greedy anime protagonists. He is greedy enough to rank along with some of the worst villains in anime. That’s especially interesting considering Blue Lock is a sports anime, and Isagi is only a soccer player with no superpowers.

However, it fits because Blue Lock has always rejected the idea of teamwork and focused solely on a player’s ego. Isagi is the perfect egotistical and greedy soccer player that Blue Lock wants. Isagi is greedy enough to end his teammates' careers so that he can progress and achieve his goals.

7Kakuzu

Kakuzu is one of the most importantmembers of the Akatsukiin Naruto, mainly because he is the finance manager and handles all the money for the organization. Naturally, Kakuzu is one of the greediest characters for money. He is willing to go to any lengths and kill anybody if it means that he will be getting paid.

Kakuzu has been alive for a very long time. Despite this, he continues to search for money and doesn’t seem to have any other meaning in his life. Naturally, he doesn’t care for his victims or show them any sympathy either.

Greed is one of the Homunculi from FMAB, made from the father’s greed. As expected, Greed is always trying to obtain everything he possibly can. Ironically, Greed ultimately sacrifices himself to protect the people he cares about.

He is one of the most interesting and well-written representations of greed you will see in anime. Greed’s development and growth throughout FMAB are remarkable. Greed proves that even the incarnation of avarice can change if given the chance.

5Frieza

Frieza is the tyrannical emperor of the universe from Dragon Ball Z. He brought an end to many planets and civilizations, making him one of the mostevil anime charactersyou will come across. He also took over the Saiyans and forced them to do his bidding.

The Frieza force continues to grow and take over planets against the will of those residing on those planets. Frieza’s greed and selfishness also expand with his force, as he cares for no one but himself and his desires. Even Frieza’s own subordinates are merely tools to be discarded when they no longer serve a purpose.

4All For One

My Hero Academia

All For One is the main antagonist of My Hero Academia. He has the ability to steal and give quirks to other people. Naturally, he becomes greedy and wants to steal every good quirk for himself. This makes him uncontested, and he eventually takes over Japan as the evil Demon Lord.

Of course, All For One’s greed doesn’t just end with quirks, he wants absolute control over everything and everyone. All For One is willing to do anything to get rid of obstacles in his way. He is also a great manipulator who takes advantage of people at their lowest points.

3Orochimaru

Orochimaru is an iconic villain from Naruto who has always wanted every Jutsu for himself. His desire to master every single Jutsu led him on a dark path to immortality. He used and discarded many people in this quest.

Even when Orochimaru was helping in the Fourth Great Ninja War, he was likely doing it out of self-interest or some greater goal. There has not been a single instance of Orochimaru doing something selfless.

2Sosuke Aizen

Bleach

Aizen is a terrifyingly smart individual whose goal is to rule over everyone. He carefully planned for hundreds of years to overthrow the Soul King and take his place. He acted as a kind individual who cared for those around him.

However, he quickly sacrificed those who looked up to him to further his motives. Nothing but his own ambition and desire to become the Soul King matters to Aizen, making him a perfectly greedy character.

1Echidna

Re:Zero − Starting Life In Another World

Echidna is the Witch of Greed from Re:Zero. She is one of the seven witches formed in reference to the Seven Deadly Sins. Of course, Echidna lives up to her name and is likely the greediest character in anime. She wishes to obtain knowledge of everything in the universe.

While Echidna’s true nature is hard to understand, she does seem to feel empathy. However, she’s not against the idea of using others to gain more knowledge about the world around her. Echidna is certainly one of the greediest but also one of the most fascinating characters.
