If you tear away the magic, Daedric cults, and threat of an impending apocalypse, the world of Cyrodiil inOblivion: Remasteredis more similar to our reality than you may think. Not everyone can be royalty like Martin Septim, so the rest of us are out here trying to survive byfetching rare plants for alchemistsorfighting for glory in the Arena.

Whatever your preferred method of earning gold Septims, certain towns are gold mines for jobs, while others are a fight for every contract –just ask the Fighter’s Guild. These cities are cutthroat, even starting with the best job market.

The Imperial City in the distance of Cyrodil in Oblivion Remastered.

9The Imperial City

There’s plenty to see and do in the Imperial City, with the Market and Arena Districts standing out as the main attractions for tourists and weary travelers. With plenty of entertainment and stores come plenty of jobs available just to keep things running smoothly.

you’re able to even play a huge role in influencing the fair trade among merchants in the Market District inthe Unfriendly Competition side quest. While there might be plenty of people vying for work in the city, there are also plenty of opportunities available if you know where to look.

The Mages Guild’s Arcane University is also in the Imperial City, if you’re looking to join a guild.

8Bruma

From the big city to the sleepy town of Bruma, it’s not too much harder here to find a job in the big city, especially considering how small the town is. Law enforcement and mercenary services are in high demand, if the Oblivion crisis is anything to go by.

Living here would be a great idea for versatile freelancers, as long as Daedric Princes continue to really hate the Blades and Bruma in particular.

Farwil Indarys Inside The Oblivion Plane Of The Cheydinhal Oblivion Gate In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

If you’re avampire hunter, there might be some jobs for you to do in Bruma; just ask around the tavern, and you’ll probably find someone who needs your help.

7Cheydinhal

Cheydinhal is a sleepy little town adjacent to the Nibenay Basin, giving it a perfect location for trading with the Imperial City. It’s a bigger town than Bruma, but the job market isn’t perfect, even if it’s way better than Anvil. The Fighters Guild should have some work for you, if you’re on the violent side, or you can justjoin the Dark Brotherhood– hypothetically, of course.

Based on the patch of Thieves Guild activity in this town, it’s clear that things are pretty desperate, taking bribes from the Grey Fox without question. It’s a quiet town overall, but if you’re okay with getting your hands dirty, you might be able to pick up a few odd jobs, especially if you like hunting down missing people.

Oblivion Remastered Major City Order Skingrad

6Skingrad

Despite having a pretty off-putting name for a city, Skingrad redeems itself with some solid job options, without much experience necessary. Sinderion always needs Nirnroot, so you could make a living from plucking the rare root out of the ground anytime you see it to feed Sinderion’s obsessive research.

Unfortunately, we can’t recommend any super-wealthy friends who need a hand at the moment, but this town often needs housekeepers to keep the large mansions in beautiful shape. Treasure hunters can look around for a legendary treasure buried here, though you might want to keep your day job while you do.

Oblivion Remastered Nirnroot Anvil Lighthouse

5Anvil

Speaking of hunting, there’s a little bit of ghost hunting to be done in Anvil, but for a port town, this place is pretty disappointing. Every time we go down to the docks to ask about work, the sailors are throwing punches and shouting, so we leave them alone to enjoy whatever they’re doing.

There’s even a gang that formed in town that preys on married men, though that could just be a regular Friday night for some. Even if there aren’t many job postings popping up, you might find some work by hanging around and calming down any tensions among the exceedingly bored townsfolk.

Oblivion Remastered Major City Order Leyawin

4Leyawiin

Leyawiin is the site of a major rivalry between the Fighters Guild and the Blackwood Company, but despite their proximity, most of the competition between these groups manifests through jobs in other cities. Orcs might have better luck elsewhere, especially ifyou have dreams of being a knight.

Luckily, Leyawiin has some properly bizarre citizens who call it home, so there will always be something they need you to do. Hopefully, they don’t all involve rats and horrible stenches in the basement of someone’s home.

The exterior of the guild hall of the fighters guild in Chorrol.

3Chorrol

Chorrol is a hotspot for jobs, but everybody knows it, so that means that if your cousin’s friend, who has a wealthy uncle, doesn’t know someone who can get you a job, then you’re not getting one, kid. The Fighters Guild and The Blackwood Company wage war here, struggling to claim the lion’s share of the work.

If you’re not much of a fighter, then Chorrol is really not for you, and if you’re an artist, then don’t even think about living here. There’s alreadya famous painter who makes his home here, and he’s probably not leaving anytime soon.

Oblivion Remastered Arrow Of Extrication Castle Bravil 8

2Bravil

Bravil might be one of the most beautiful places in Cyrodiil, but it’s also one of the least bustling, leaving a lack of jobs available. This small town has a bit of an eerie feeling to it, especially considering how multiple people ask you to find missing loved ones.

If you’re not keen on becoming a private detective, then Bravil offers little else other than the opportunity to steal. The Thieves Guild is notorious for having its members pass through this area to steal, which is always a good indication that the legitimate job market is rough.

Oblivion Remastered Major City Order Kvatch

1Kvatch

Nothing against Kvatch – any city could have been chosen as the staging ground for a Daedric Prince’s relentless invasion of the mortal realm. However, unfortunately for Kvatch, only one city could claim that distinct honor, which comes with the unfortunate side effect of destroying the entire infrastructure established here.

As you might imagine, that makes it impossible to get a job, which qualifies Kvatch as the hardest place to find a job in Cyrodiil. Woo! Maybe it’s not worth celebrating now, but the Cyrodilic Brandy after the rebuild is going tohitafter a delicious comeback story for the ages.
