The Sims 4has been the victim of a fair few bizarre bugs over the years, such as long-legged babies, rapid aging, and family members fancying each other, but its most recent slip-up is quite possibly the most bizarre of them all. In the world of The Sims, it seems as though becoming pregnant is as common as catching the flu, as many Sims 4 players are finding their Sims pregnant without engaging in a single WooHoo.
The Sims 4 Update Causes Bug Where Every Sim Is Pregnant
This bug has been torturing Sims 4 players ever since its last big update dropped, but was captured at its most absurd by a Reddit user called Pigzonthemoon (thanks Videogamer). In an image theyshared on the Sims 4 subreddit, you can see what is very clearly a young girl unable to blow out the candles on her cake because the game has deemed her pregnant.
In the replies, another user called Dayzie1138 explains that their male Sim was also stricken with the pregnancy virus, while Pigzonthemoon further explains that they can’t even do the game’s latest event because “every single one” of their Sims is pregnant. It’s been happening to a lot more Sims 4 players than that too,as seen in a recent bug report, in which the submitter explained their Sim was unable to try for a baby or take a pregnancy test, presumably because the game already considers the Sim pregnant.
Fortunately, EA does seem to be aware of the issue, as it recently claimedvia The Sims Direct Communications Twitter accountthat it has “identified” the problem. It doesn’t give us a timeframe on exactly when it plans on curing these unwanted pregnancies, and the fact that the issuewasn’t fixed in an update pushed out yesterdaysuggests that it may be a more difficult problem to tackle than expected.
Some users have been reporting ways to fix the problem now, as some claim that removing all pregnancy mods has worked, while others suggest exiting and repairing the game works as well. For all you console players, I think you’re stuck with pregnant Sims for a while.
