There are plenty of new activities for your Sims to explore inThe Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, but one of the cutest and most decorative options you’ll have is to learn to press your flowers and herbs into things like artworks or candles using the Nature Press.

Additionally, we’ve got a wealth of living houseplants added to the game with this addition, each of which will need to be planted and tended to with the careful consideration of a real houseplant. If you’re looking to get in touch with your natural side, here are a few ways to try.

How To Buy Live Houseplants

Unlike the decorative plants we’ve had so far in The Sims 4, the plants added with Enchanted by Nature areliving houseplants, and they’ll need to be maintained as such! Regular plants can be placed and forgotten, butliving houseplants require carefrom your Sim to survive.

You’ll need tobuy a pot for living houseplants, which are available in four shapes and a variety of colors from the Plants section of Build mode (accessible if you click the plant icon in any room as well, if you’re sorting by rooms instead of by item type).

Also unlike the decorative plants we’ve been playing with so far in The Sims 4, the living plants in Enchanted by Nature can and willwither and die if not cared forproperly. You have a few days of a grace period before this happens, but you’ll need todispose of dead plantsand opt into trying again.

Your Sims need to be able to reach their living houseplants in order to care for them, so if you’ve got something locked behind a wall or inaccessible (especially if building with any cheats that allow a freer range of movement on items), you’re likely looking at a decayed houseplant in no time.

Use The Nature Pressing Ability To Decorate And Preserve Plants

Like in real life, there’s merit to pressing plants for the sake of treating them like keepsakes, preserving them for long after the actual plant’s lifespan. A lot of them can bebought from the Nature Press itself.

Additionally, if you or a Sim you knowis a fairy, you’re also able touse fairy dust to make Enchanted versions of these items. The recipe will be the same at the base, and the list of items will look identical, but you’ll see that you’ll needone pile of fairy dustto make the difference. You can use these handmade items to either decorate your own home, give as gifts, or even sell to earn a profit. You can market these candles if you’ve got the Open for Business expansion pack and want to open a storefront to sell them, or you can simply sell them from Build mode to earn the cash right away.
