The Outer Worlds 2 Showcase Gives Us Plenty Of Gameplay Footage

From the trailer, it’s clear that the setting of The Outer Worlds 2 is the same “evil capitalism with a friendly face” vibe from the first game. Here, we see that the story centres around an invasion - which the corporations only want to be addressed so they can get back to making money.

If you’re eager to see more from The Outer Worlds 2, you’re in luck. After the Xbox Games Showcase wraps up, The Outer Worlds 2 is getting a show of its own, where we can expect to have more light shed on the story we saw in this trailer. We’ll also likely get another look at the gameplay, which we already saw a fair bit of atThe Game Awards last year.

Obsidian has been incredibly busy this year, as this is its second release for 2025. The first one wasAvowed, which launched on February 13. This came about after Xbox decided to spread its major releases out a little more, pushing Avowed back from its original 2024 release date. This makes 2025 a great year for Obsidian fans, as they’re getting two major RPGs in their original settings.

The Outer Worlds 2 will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The PS5 release comes after Pentiment was ported to the rival platform, but Avowed, curiously, was not.
