Summary

During the recentXboxShowcase, Microsoft revealed that it will be joining Mario Kart World inthe $80 club with The Outer Worlds 2. Nintendo has already received a lot of flak for the pricing of its kart racer, but that’s because it’s one of the most beloved series of all time. Outer Worlds, however, didn’t quite reach the same heights.

Obsidian Didn’t Decide The Price Of Outer Worlds 2

“We’re a game developer. We love to make games. We don’t set the prices for our games,” said Adler in a conversation withGamesRadar+. “Like, personally, as a game developer, I wish everybody could play my game, because that’s what I want out of this whole thing. But for the reasons and so like, why the $79.99 price point, you’d have to honestly talk to the Xbox folks.” However, he avoided talking about his “own personal feelings” regarding the price.

Outer Worlds 2 will be Obsidian’s second RPG of the year, afterAvowed. The developer has now covered both the main genres of RPGs, and will be hoping that the space-based game will perform better than the fantasy title. The devs will be hoping that Outer Worlds 2 manages to fix the mistake of the first title, which was pretty good but wasn’t the Obsidian RPG people were hoping to get. With the game coming out on June 06, 2025, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
