Hades 2launched into early accessjust over a year ago, and it was a resounding success for Supergiant Games, hitting an impressive peak of 103,000 players. And that was when we still had placeholder gods to talk to. Now, midway through 2025, it’s finally nearing the finish line, undoubtedly gearing up to dominate the roguelite genre all over again.

As reported byRock Paper Shotgun, Hades 2 just received a smaller patch following the enormous Unseen update, which Supergiant says “will likely be our final patch before our v1.0 launch, whenever that will be!”

Even with launch around the corner, Supergiant promises that it will “keep monitoring your feedback”.

There’s still no release date, but Hades 2 is closer than ever to launch after 14 months in early access, which lines up with what Supergiant promised back in April when it said that the game would release on both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 as a timed exclusive when V1.0 rolls around. Withthe Switch 2 now firmly in hand, it’s only a matter of time.

“We’re Very Grateful For Your Support Throughout Early Access!”

Last month, Supergiant laid out its development plans for the game’s launch, with the focus being on finishing the “true ending” for Princess Melinoë’s story. Otherwise, there are “no plans for additional regions, encounters, abilities, and so on”, but the team promised that it would be adding achievements in the run-up to launch, and that you won’t need to start from the beginning to earn any that you might’ve missed.

The latest patch is mostly dedicated to bug fixes and balance tweaks, like reducing the chance of successive attacks causing you to be stun-locked.

Aside from tying the knot on Melinoë’s saga, Supergiant is also applying the “finishing touches”, refining everything from Boons to powers, artwork, and events.

“Our goal remains ensuring we’ve created our biggest, most replayable, most feature-rich game yet, and—most importantly—a worthy successor to the original Hades,” Supergiant said in its community message about the road to V1.0. “We have a big game to wrap up! While we can’t say when our V1.0 launch will be, we’re excited to be getting close, and to share the complete experience with you.”
