Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs) are one of the best ways to begin yourPokemon TCGjourney, as these products include multiple packs and accessories like dice, card sleeves, and more. Nowadays, ETBs are printed in massive quantities, but this wasn’t the case in the Sun & Moon era, when ETBs weren’t in high demand.

Fromthe Sword & Shield era onward, ETBsbecame much more heavily printed and sold in accordance with the rising demand. Now that you can barely find Pokemon products on store shelves for more than a few minutes despite frequent reprints, it’s clear that the Sun & Moon era might feature the most short-printed modern ETBs.

Lost Thunder ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

These Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs) are ordered according to theirlast sale on TCGplayer,as these values most accurately reflect the current value of these rare items.

8Lost Thunder – $459.00

Found Lightning In A Bottle

Lost Thunder suffered from the success of some of the other high-quality sets in the Sun & Moon generation. When there are dozens ofvaluable Tag Teamsto contend with, it’s understandable that Lost Thunder would fly under the radar, but even though it can’t compete with some of the other options, Lost Thunder is still worth quite a bit.

If you were a part of the Pokemon TCG community when these were available, you might have picked one up for $60 or under if you were patient enough to find them on sale. For one of the less expensive ETBs in the era, a tidy seven times your investment is a nice return, assuming you kept it sealed.

The Unbroken Bonds ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

7Unbroken Bonds – $590.98

Keeping It Together

While you might’ve expected to see Unbroken Bonds selling for even more than its impressive price tag, it’s only a matter of time before this set’s price accurately reflectsthe collection of expensive cards it boasts.

Unbroken Bonds is the sole pricing exception, as the market price was used instead of a recent sale. The most recent sale at the time of writing was for a box with a ripped plastic covering, so the price was lower than usual.

The Ultra Prism Dusk Mane ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

This ETB also featured the fewest sales of any other Sun & Moon era ETBs, indicating that there aren’t as many available on the market as some other sets. A sudden influx of supply could change everything, but for now, it’s slim pickings out there for Unbroken Bonds ETBs.

6Ultra Prism (Dusk Mane) – $699.99

In Its Twin’s Shadow

Ultra Prism is the only set from the Sun & Moon era to feature two separate ETB designs, among the most expensive of the generation. Dusk Mane depicts Necrozma fused with Solgaleo on the front, with a bright orange background that grabs your attention.

While it sells for a noticeably cheaper price when compared to its twin, this ETB is still incredibly difficult to find and is sought after by collectors due to its rarity and the visually unique design that the color choice contributes to.

The Ultra Prism Dawn Wings ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

5Ultra Prism (Dawn Wings) – $799.99

Gliding Away

All that being said about the Dusk Mane ETB, the Dawn Wings ETB version of Ultra Prism stands out as roughly $100 more valuable than its twin. Lunala beats Solgaleo in the battle of the box legendaries, as these two Pokemon continue to battle it out. Unfortunately, their battleground is our wallet, which will be empty after purchasing one of these valuable ETBs.

Even though Ultra Prism isn’t the strongest set of the Sun & Moon era by a long shot, the box designs are top-notch and, as a display item, it’s hard to deny that these ETBs have a lot going for them, especially when combined as a pairing.

The Unified Minds ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

4Unified Minds – $850.00

A Mew For All

Unified Minds stands out thanks to its focus on Mew and Mewtwo on the box art, as the shades of purple provide the perfect backdrop for these iconic Pokemon. In reality, this ETB’s price might still have plenty of potential, as there aren’t many recent sales to analyze.

Aside from the recent sales, most of the available listings set the price well above the $1,000 mark, which means that the price will rise once these remaining boxes are sold. Although it may take time to see the price rise reflected on TCGplayer, it will eventually happen.

The Celestial Storm ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

3Celestial Storm – $920.00

The Perfect Storm

On its color choice alone, Celestial Storm pops as one of the most recognizable Sun & Moon era ETBs, and its rising value reflects an increasing demand. Much like Forbidden Light, Celestial Storm is another example of a solid set that might not have as many valuable cards as Team Up, but makes up for it with an incredibly pretty bright green design.

Rayquaza is one of the most popular Pokemon ever, so you should expect this ETB to maintain its value and continue a steady rise on the back of the Pokemon’s immense popularity. You don’t need to have the best set to be one of the most expensive Sun & Moon era ETBs.

The Cosmic Eclipse ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

2Cosmic Eclipse – $1,000.00

A Sunny Day

Speaking of expensive sets, Cosmic Eclipse’s bestcards are some of the most recognizable and valuable in the Sun & Moon era.Whether you’re a fan of Pokemon or trainers, this set has everything you could ever hope for in a set, and the box art for the ETB reflects the set’s variety.

Cosmic Eclipse is one of the most well-rounded sets with an equally stunning ETB that features Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia, three of the biggest stars of the set.

The Team Up ETB from the Pokemon TCG.

1Team Up – $2,500.00

Win As A Team

In 2024, you wouldn’t have seen Team Up anywhere near the conversation forthe most valuable ETB in Pokemon history, but with every day that passes, it seems likely to claim the crown for the long haul. Zekrom and Pikachu are hugely popular choices to include in this box art, which is becoming harder to find as more are bought and opened.

Sales of this box jumped in 2025 as the ETB soared in value from under $1,000 to the $2,500 mark, reflecting the set’s incredible popularity. With Team Up being the clear best set from Sun & Moon, expect this ETB to increase its lead over Cosmic Eclipse.
