The use of white to balance out the blue and yellow makes this card a little dull compared to some of the other top-tier Rare Candy cards, but it perfectly suits the other cards you’ll find in Sandstorm.
7Rare Candy: Holon Phantoms (Uncommon) – $10.70
Simple But Delicious
Holon Phantoms holds a special place in the heart of many of us who have been around the Pokemon TCG for years, as this set is as beautiful as it is expensive. Even though it’s just an Uncommon card, this Rare Candy still breaks into the double digits, illustrating both the card’s popularity and the immense costs associated with the set.
This card swings to the other side of the brightness spectrum, as the only lighting used in the scene illuminates the central area of the candy, leaving the rest of the card shrouded in darkness. This set’s vibe is way darker than Sandstorm, so it’s not surprising to see that reflected here.
6Rare Candy 142/168: League & Championship Cards (League Cup Promo) – $12.42
Meal Of A Champion
Aside from the regular sets that boast Rare Candy cards, you’ll also find a selection of especially expensive editions that were used as promo cards for various events, like this League Cup Promo. This promo was distributed as a reward starting in 2018, as its artwork hails from the Celestial Storm set.
If you were one of the lucky few competitors to attend qualifying events, then you would have a chance to receive this card, but otherwise, it would have been difficult to come by.
5Rare Candy: POP Series 5 (Uncommon) – $12.99
Preparing For A Price Jump
If you’re not familiar withthe most valuable POP Series cards, then you might be surprised to see that this Uncommon Rare Candy manages to command more than a rare League Promo. You may also notice that this card shares the same artwork as the Rare Candy from Holon Phantoms.
POP Series cards are typically reused artwork from other popular sets that were released at the time, so this was expected. However, the POP Series packs only included two cards, so every card was difficult to find in a way.
4Rare Candy: Guardians Rising (Secret Rare) – $26.57
The Secret’s Out
Guardians Rising is packed with valuable Secret Rare cardslike this stunning Rare Candy, which more than doubles the price of the previous card, setting a new standard for similar modern cards. While most of the designs thus far have been fairly muted, this card goes all-in on eye appeal, using bright lighting, vivid colors, and glimmering sparkles to attract attention.
In terms of sheer visibility, this card stands out ahead of any other artwork thus far, and has a legitimate argument for the most visually appealing Rare Candy card.
3Rare Candy 142/168: League & Championship Cards (Staff Promo) – $65.00
Working For It
If you prefer therarity and value of championship promo cards,then you’ll love this Staff version of the League Promo Rare Candy card. This is identical to the previous Celestial Storm artwork in every way, except for the noticeable ‘Staff’ stamp in the bottom left-hand corner.
It’s slightly surprising how much more expensive this version is; however, considering that it was only distributed to staff members who volunteered at these events, its rarity contributes heavily to the price tag.
2Rare Candy 105: Plasma Blast (Secret Rare) – $119.00
Blowing The Competition Away
While this card is probably one of the nicest-looking Rare Candy artworks in the Pokemon TCG, you could argue that itlooks fairly average for such an expensive card.Plasma Blast is packed with some gorgeous artwork, and this Rare Candy is no exception, as it makes the most of its small frame.
If you were impressed by the value of the previous Rare Candy, then you’ll be blown away by the roughly $120 price tag you’ll need to pay for a near-mint (NM) copy of this card.
1Rare Candy 82/95: League & Championship Cards (League Promo) – $130.31
The League Leader
The most valuable Rare Candy card of all time is yet another promo card distributed to participants in the PLAY! Pokemon League. Much like previous Rare Candy League promo cards, this artwork is a reprint of the same one used in HeartGold & SoulSilver’s Unleashed set.
The main distinguishing factor between this version and its counterpart is the PLAY! Pokemon stamp that’s visible in the background of the bottom text. While this card’s price is already above $130, don’t be surprised to see it continue rising.
