Romance is a major part ofBaldur’s Gate 3. With more than seven romanceable characters, there is someone for everyone. Despite that, fans find themselves shipping NPCs and other origins characters in a variety of combinations.
While you canonly romance certain companions, your imagination isn’t as limited. With so many well-developed characters, it’s easy to create romantic scenarios between all sorts of pairings, whether companions, villains, or random NPCs. Here are some Baldur’s Gate 3 characters we imagine getting together.
10Blurg And Omeluum
A Brilliant Pairing
While it’s not confirmed in the game, Blurg and Omeluum would make an adorable couple in Baldur’s Gate 3. The pair is clearly close, and the trader and friendly mindflayer are both members of the Society of Brilliance.
They clearly have a lot in common, and they can be heard chatting away in the Underdark, working together and cultivating curiosity. A card in Magic: The Gathering actually confirmed the pairing as romantic, so fans who ship them are onto something.
9Araj And Minthara
Drow Do It Better
Minthara andArajhave a lot in common, including being Lolth-sworn Drow. These dark elves tend to be on the ruthless side and worship a dark and merciless goddess, so they would have been raised in similar environments.
On top of that, they are both driven and certain of what they want, whether asking for a vampire’s blood or a vendetta against Orin. They are both willing to deceive and murder to get what they want, making them a pair to be reckoned with.
8Isobel And Shadowheart
Enemies To Lovers, Anyone?
While we all know Isobel is solely devoted to Dame Aylin, it’s interesting to imagine her getting with Shadowheart if circumstances were different. The Cleric of Selune and Dark Justiciar would have an incredible enemies-to-lovers arc, especially if Shadowheart rejects Shar.
Their banter in Last Light In alone solidifies this, suggesting a tense dynamic with a lot of growth potential. The opposing backstories and questioning of faith would make for an angst-filled love story.
7Sazza And Crusher
Goblins Deserve Love Too
Everyone deserves to find love,even Goblins. Sazza and Crusher would make a cute couple, even if they are technically aligned with the villain. Both of these Goblins show a lot of spunk and overconfidence, despite being humbled right after.
you may take both characters down a peg, showing them they aren’t as high and mighty as they think. After you embarrass Crusher at the Goblin Camp, he can probably relate to Sazza’s shame at being captured and held by the Tieflings.
6Jaheira And Nine Fingers
Professional Rivalry Gone Right
While Jaheira was very in love with her husband, Khalid, she is a widow in Baldur’s Gate 3. If she is ever ready to find love again, Nine Fingers Keene would be a great option for her. While there is a large age gap, they have the perfect personalities to match each other.
They both have incredible influence within their organizations and will do whatever it takes to protect their longevity. Their shared history leads to mocking comments and underlying fondness that we can see growing into something more.
5Rolan And Gale
Wise Wizards
Two influential wizards with a great interest in powerful magic are a match made in heaven. Each immensely values knowledge and is seeking to improve their intellect, to the point of coming off a bit condescending to others.
Their overconfidence and egos could conflict with each other, or they could click and share their wisdom and enthusiasm for magic. Both of their storylines are about growth and evolving into more responsible, selfless individuals, so they could have a cute love story.
4Shadowheart And Nocturne
Friends To Lovers
Nocturne is one of Shadowheart’s childhood friends and one of the only people she can remember from her pastafter consuming the Noblestalk. Their intertwined history and experiences in the Cult of Shar are a bond that cannot be easily broken.
They both struggle with doubts of faith and grow to find their authentic selves in the game. A childhood friends-to-lovers arc as they overcome religious trauma together would be a sweet way to end their story.
3Lae’zel And Orpheus
Straight From A Fantasy Novel
While Lae’zel is a frequently romanced companion for Tav, we can also see a romantic arc between her and Orpheus, the Prince of the Comet. While there is no direct attraction within the game, it’s easy to imagine how their love story could play out.
Orpheus helps lead Lae’zel to liberation, and they have the potential for a powerful connection. The mythological story turned reality sounds like the plot of a YA novel, and we could see Lae’zel falling for the fabled Prince as their destinies intertwine.
2Gortash And The Dark Urge
A Match Made In Hell
The Dark Urge has an interesting history with Gortash, as you learn upon playing that particular origin. While Gortash isn’t romanceable, the connection between the two is open to interpretation, leading some to believe their dynamic is romantic.
Their common goals and shared ambition have a powerful couple potential, built on mutual admiration confirmed by a note Durge wrote before losing their memories. Gortash has a more reasonable and soft demeanor with Durge over Tav, so a romantic relationship isn’t the weirdest concept.
1Karlach And Dammon
The Perfect Match
Out of all the imagined pairings in Baldur’s Gate 3, Karlach and Dammon are the cutest. While Dammon isn’t romanceable, he is a perfect match for the tiefling Barbarian, especially after he spends so much time trying to help her repair her heart.
In a particularly flirtatious moment, he helps her become “touchable” again and holds her hand to prove it if you’re playing a Karlach origin run. Dammon even sends Karlach a letter in the epilogue saying he thinks about her often, which is the biggest hint at his feelings for her.
