Finding a Pokemon to collect in thePokemon TCGcan be difficult due to howexpensive some of the most valuable modern cardsare. However, once you dive past the wall oftop-tier popular Pokemon like Pikachuand Charizard, there are dozens of other underrated Pokemon with very affordable cards.

Grimmsnarl is a perfect example of a unique, powerful Pokemon that is a relatively recent inclusion to the series with its debut in the Sword and Shield era. However, unlike some of the most valuable cards from the Sword & Shield era, Grimmsnarl remains highly affordable, with its most expensive card commanding less than a lunch out.

8Grimmsnarl: Rebel Clash (Holo Rare) – $0.27

A Grim Future Ahead

Grimmsnarl’s roster of Pokemon TCG is still incredibly small, so you won’t find much variety in terms of the sheer number of cards, but there are still some diamonds in the rough. None ofRebel Clash’s most expensive cardsare particularly costly, but this Grimmsnarl is one of the best holos in the set.

Regular holos aren’t the big-money bangers that most people are looking for among the best modern Pokemon TCG cards, but this card is a great start to any budding Grimmsnarl collection.

The Darkness Ablaze Grimmsnarl V in the Pokemon TCG.

7Grimmsnarl V: Darkness Ablaze (Ultra Rare) – $0.65

Getting Stronger

Darkness Ablaze is probably one of the leastexciting Sword & Shield set releases in the entire era, with heavy-hitters like Evolving Skies and Fusion Strike grabbing the spotlight from their peers. Regular V Pokemon are typically some of the least desirable cards in a Sword & Shield set.

Grimmsnarl V will cost you under a dollar, and it likely won’t exceed that price tag anytime soon if the market attitude remains consistent on these cards.

The Shining Fates Grimmsnarl V in the Pokemon TCG.

V Pokemon and holos are little more than glorified common cards nowadays.

6Grimmsnarl V: Shining Fates Shiny Vault (Shiny Holo Rare) – $1.16

A Stark Contrast

The first shiny Grimmsnarl card makes a solid statement among the best Grimmsnarl cards in the Pokemon TCG. As one of the few Grimmsnarl cards to cost over a dollar, this Shiny Holo Rare stands out thanks to its stark white coloring and sparkling shiny glimmers in the background.

While this Grimmsnarl V isn’t immensely exciting, its shiny color palette makes it a more desirable card that will likely keep a solid price over the more common cards. Luckily, shinies always carry a premium, which is abundantly clear based on the rest of the best Grimmsnarl cards.

5Grimmsnarl: Shining Fates Shiny Vault (Shiny Holo Rare) – $1.93

Shinies Keep Winning

This Grimmsnarl Shiny Holo Rare is a bit different from its other shiny iterations, as this affectionately dubbed ‘baby shiny’ Grimmsnarl is one of the most beloved Shining Fates cards you can get. Despite the relatively small canvas this card gets, it makes the most of the smaller space with a great Grimmsnarl pose.

It’s hard to argue that this card’s price should be much higher than a couple of dollars, but considering how affordable it is, this Grimmsnarl is a must-have if you want to collect the best cards this Pokemon has to offer.

The Darkness Ablaze Grimmsnarl VMAX in the Pokemon TCG.

4Grimmsnarl VMAX: Darkness Ablaze (Ultra Rare) – $2.11

Prepare For Deja Vu

This Grimmsnarl VMAX makes a huge statement with this artwork, as it clears any of the other Grimmsnarl cards thus far in cool factor by a wide margin. This is the largest depiction of Grimmsnarl we’ve gotten on any card thus far, and the fierce battle pose gives this card a dynamic, eye-catching appeal.

Unfortunately, this version is strictly inferior in both design and price to the Shining Fates version, which takes this solid art from Darkness Ablaze and gives it a beautiful makeover worthy of a noticeably higher price.

3Grimmsnarl VMAX: Shining Fates Shiny Vault (Shiny Holo Rare) – $3.66

The Pinnacle Shiny

As promised, the Shining Fates Grimmsnarl VMAX delivers a visual buffet thanks to the bright white, shiny color palette, the ferocious battle pose, and a collection of beautiful sparkles glimmering in the background behind the massive Grimmsnarl depicted here.

If you enjoyed the Grimmsnarl VMAX from Darkness Ablaze, then this version will justify the price tag, which isn’t even that high consideringthe potential cost that VMAX cardscome with.

The Destined Rvials Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex in the Pokemon TCG.

2Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex: Destined Rivals (Double Rare) – $5.16

A Dark Duo

Marnie’s Grimmsnarl is one of the few trainer and Pokemon duo cards in Destined Rivals that doesn’t have an alternate artwork in the form of an Illustration Rare or something similar. Despite the missed opportunity to produce a card that could have beenamong the best in Destined Rivals, this card is still one of the most colorful and creative Grimmsnarl cards so far.

There’s no doubt that Grimmsnarl’s lack of representation with high-quality full art, alternate art, or illustration rares opens the door for cards like this to shine. However, despite this card’s rise, Grimmsnarl still hasn’t met its potential.

The Grimmsnarl V Jumbo Promo in the Pokemon TCG.

1Grimmsnarl V (SWSH057): Jumbo Cards (Promo) – $14.25

The Big Time

While most of Grimmsnarl’s best cards miss an X-factor, thisunusually valuable promo cardstands out thanks to its sheer size. Jumbo promo cards like this one typically sell cheaply, but certain, rarer versions can command much more money, especially if there isn’t a regular-sized version of the artwork.

This Jumbo Grimmsnarl V finally gives the Pokemon a large canvas to shine on, but honestly, the artwork falls a bit flat considering how much more could’ve been added, especially if this card had a shiny color palette. Despite these pitfalls, this is still the most valuable Grimmsnarl card available.
