Only a few products have revolutionized the modernPokemon TCGquite like Evolving Skies, as this set sparked a renewed interest in collectingduring the Sword & Shield’s impressive era. While there are dozens of gorgeous cards to collect, there’s no doubt thatthe rise of the modern-day Moonbreon(Umbreon VMAX) elevated this set to a new level.
Whether you’re an enjoyer of the Eeveelutions, an Umbreon superfan, or love some cool Dragon-type Pokemon, Evolving Skies has something for you. If you want to pull your own copies out of a pack, then you might want to reconsider when you see the prices of these valuable Evolving Skies products.
Boxes and packs are ordered according to theirTCGplayermarket prices. If there are multiple artworks for a given box, the most valuable artwork is chosen.
8Sleeved Packs – $39.82
Extra Protection And Space For Art
Loose packs usually retail for about five dollars, but when you’re as in-demand and hard to find as Evolving Skies, MSRP gets thrown out the window, so don’t expect to find cheap deals. While you might pay a little less money for a pack without a sleeve, the sleeved version is quickly rising in price.
We remember seeing these by the dozen for under $11 closer to release, but the good old days are already long gone, and each pack will now cost around $40.
7V-Union Special Collections – $124.40
A Mixed Bag
V-Union Special Collection boxes are an interesting case, since they’re not exclusively Evolving Skies products, but they contain a medley of packs which includes Evolving Skies. Aside from the four promo cards which form a scene, you’ll receive four booster packs in these collections.
At least one of those packs will be Evolving Skies, though some boxes may contain two. While this isn’t the best value for money, it’s easy to see why a box that features a popular Pokemon like Mewtwo and a product like Evolving Skies continues to climb.
6Three-Pack Blisters – $130.55
That Promo, Though
Three-pack blisters are typically one of the least desirable ways to buy a product, given how difficult they can be to open without damaging the promo card or packs inside. Despite this logistical difficulty, these products boast promo cards, like Umbreon, which boost the value.
Three packs of Evolving Skies are much cheaper when purchased individually, but the exclusivity of the promos in these blisters ensures that this product will remain in demand.
5Build & Battle Box – $175.21
So Much Regret
Build & Battle boxes were once the last products remaining on store shelves, as they were far less desirable than ETBs or booster boxes. However, even these boxes are nearly impossible to come by, and they’re never going to be available for their once-affordable MSRP.
Inside this box, you’ll receive 23 cards used for building a deck, including four alt-art promos. Aside from those, you only get four packs, and while most of the value comes from those packs, the promos are still a massive draw for these boxes.
4Elite Trainer Box – $354.92
A New Standard
TheEvolving Skies ETB stands tall as the clear champion of the Sword & Shield era, catapulting to a value that exceeds $350. While you might have once bought this box for $60 or so, the value has multiplied by roughly 600 percent, one of the most impressive percentage jumps on the list.
While it’s not even one of the top three most valuable Evolving Skies boxes you may get, this ETB is one of the most popular, as the box itself offers great artwork, and the collection of packs inside always offers a chance at a huge hit.
3Build & Battle Stadium – $388.28
Building A Dynasty
The Build & Battle Stadium is an upgraded version of the mini boxes of a similar name, with a few key differences leading to the massive price bump. Most notably, this box contains 12 packs of Evolving Skies: eight from the two Build & Battle boxes within, and an additional four on top of those.
There are plenty of incredibly nice promo cards to collect here as well, as you may expect the same set from the smaller Build & Battle Boxes along with other copies inserted into special promo packs.
2Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box – $586.70
Extra Packs, Extra Cost
This Pokemon Center ETB might have an argument to make as one of themost valuable Elite Trainer Boxes in the Pokemon TCGwhen all is said and done, given the set’s immense popularity. The design is similar to the regular ETB, but this version gives more space for each Pokemon to shine.
With ten packs inside, it’s hard to argue in favor of buying this box if you want to open it, as there isn’t anything exclusive inside to justify it.
This was before ETBs came with exclusive promo cards, notably those with the Pokemon Center stamp,so it’s best to keep this sealed.
1Booster Box – $1,972.02
The Next Team Up
The Evolving Skies booster box continues its march into new territory, as it aims to shoot into the $2,000+ range for the foreseeable future. While it’s not quite impossible to make your money back, you’ll need to get a few ofthe most valuable cards from Evolving Skiesto have any chance of recouping your investment.
However, as one of the most popular sets of the 2020s, there’s no doubt that this box will continue to rise in value, so keeping it sealed might be your only chance of staying in the green once you’ve shelled out big bucks for this box.
