AsZenless Zone Zeroreached a full year since the initial launch, the game started its season two main story with the Version 2.0 update. This story takes you to a brand-new area where you meet the members of the Yunkui Summit faction, and you can also get some of these members as playable characters.
Yixuan is the first character you’ll meet from this faction, and she’s the first Rupture character to be released as well. Having Auric Ink as her attribute, Yixuan can dish out immensely high damage as long as you equip her with the right gear and get used to her rotation.
Yixuan Best W-Engine
Since the Rupture specialty first arrived in Zenless Zone Zero with Yixuan’s release, there aren’t a lot of W-Engine choices for her. Of course,the best W-Engine for Yixuan is her signature one called Qingming Birdcage. However, if you’re not going for that, you have a couple of other choices:

Being Yixuan’s signature W-Engine, this gives her a bunch of HP Percent as the secondary stat,which is necessary for her since her Sheer Force scales from it. Outside of that, it also provides her a direct 20 percent Crit Rate boost.
While this already makes it a great W-Engine for Yixuan, there’s an added benefit of hergetting up to 16 percent Ether DMG bonus and 20 percent Ether Sheer DMG bonus, with the latter only applying to her Ultimate and EX Special Attack.

This is another Rupther engine that has HP Percent as the secondary stat, already making it great for Yixuan. Apart from that, it can give you up to 128 percent Sheer Forcewhenever you launch a Chain Attack or Ultimate.
This effect can stack up to three times, which works perfectly with Yixuan as she hastwo different Ultimates based on her Decibels and Technique Points.

If you don’t have any of the above W-Engines, you can also use this one to get a decent 20 percent HP Percent bonus from the secondary stat. However,the ATK Percent she gets from switching in isn’t as important.
Theeffect still isn’t completely uselesssince it gives her a bit more Sheer Force.
Yixuan Best Drive Discs
When you head over to Yixuan’s equipment section, you’ll find a total of six slots where you can place different Drive Discs. These discs have one main stat and up to four sub-stats, andserve as the main way to stack your character with the required stats. Outside of personal stats, these discs can also give you bonus effects based on the amount you equip on the character.
This includes both two-piece and four-piece bonuses. Usually, you have one of each on a character, and here are the best choices for Yixuan:
Synergy With Yixuan
Yunkui Tales (4Pc)
Released alongside Yixuan for the first time in the Version 2.0 update, thisserves as the best and only viable four-piece set for her. With two pieces from this set, you can give her a decent ten percent HP boost.
However, the bonus from the four-piece is much larger as it gives her up to12 percent Crit Rate and a ten percent Sheer DMG bonusas long as you constantly trigger her EX Special Attacks, Chain Attack, and Ultimates.
Woodpecker Electro (2Pc)
This is arguably the best two-piece set for Yixuan as it gives her eight percent Crit Rate.She doesn’t get a lot of Crit Rate from her kit, especially if you’re not using her signature W-Engine, which makes this an important addition.
Chaotic Metal (2Pc)
You can also use two pieces of this set toget a decent Ether DMG bonus on her.
Branch & Blade Song (2Pc)
Finally, if you think you’ve built enough Crit Rate on her,you can instead go for the two-piece of this setto get a respectable 16 percent Crit DMG bonus.
HP Percent
Sub-Stats
Crit DMG/Rate > HP Percent > ATK Percent > Anomaly Proficiency
While PEN is a good stat to have on DPS characters usually, it’s important to rememberthat it’s completely useless on Yixuan.
This is because PEN helps with the enemy’s defense andSheer Force DMG already completely ignores the enemy’s DEF.
Yixuan Best Bangboo
While the choice of Bangboodepends on the entire team and not just one character, here are afew decent choices you’d wantto use on Yixuan:
Belion
Released alongside Yixuan, this S-Rank Bangbooneeds at least two Yunkui Summit charactersin the team. Once the condition is met, the Bangboo deals 25 percent more damage and reduces its active skill cooldown with your characters' Ultimate.
Sumoboo
If you’re using a stun character in the team,this Bangboo can help you stun the enemy fasterby dealing increased Daze.
Exploreboo
Finally, this one can help your teamget healed, shielded, or increase their Energy Regenas long as you have a Support character in the party.
Astra Yao

As you might already know, Zenless Zone Zero follows a strict guide when it comes to team compositions since every character has someadded bonuses for using a specific type, attribute, or faction units with them. For Yixuan, these are Stun, Support, or Defense characters. In theory, it might look like she has a lot of choices because of this.
However, the reality is different mainly because shecan’t use a lot of the buffs provided by the usual characters from these specialties. For example, Rina and Nicole are some of the best support units in the game, but they provide increased PEN and reduce the enemy’s DEF respectively, which are both useless for Yixuan.
Once again, Yixuan cancompletely ignore the enemy’s DEFwith her Sheer Force damage.
With that in mind, the onlybest team for Yixuan currently involves Pan Yinhu and Astra Yao. However, theATK bonus from Astrastill isn’t the greatest for her since she mainly scales on HP. Pan Yinhu, on the other hand, is a staple in Yixuan teams since he can give her a bunch of extra Sheer Force as long as you have 3,000 ATK on him.
For an F2P team, you may replace Astra Yao with Nicole as shestill gives a 25 percent DMG bonus with her extra ability, which works great with Yixuan.
Yixuan Skill Overview And Priority
Agent kits are normally quite complicated in Zenless Zone Zero, and Yixuan is no different, especially sinceshe has multiple instances of Basic Attacks, EX Special Attacks, and Ultimates. However, here’s an easy breakdown of how she works:
The general idea is to use your EX Special Attacks until you get her special Ultimate. After using this Ultimate,you can use the Auric Array basic attack and repeat the process. Of course, you can use your normal Ultimate whenever it’s ready.
If you’re using a stun character, you’d want tostun the enemy before using your special ultimate.
