10MetalGreymon
A Mecha Dinosaur Arrives
Agumon is the first in Digimon Adventure to reach his ultimate form. While Digimon have no set evolutions, Metal Greymon feels like the most natural step up. Greymon gets a sleek metal skull and chest plates that hide missile launchers. He even gains wings and a metal arm with claws.
Once Agumon achieves his mega form, MetalGreymon is rarely ever used again, but it still stands out as one of the best designs. After all, this is a mecha dinosaur with all the cool gadgets and upgrades.
9SkullGreymon
A Corrupted Form
SkullGreymon only appears once in Digimon Adventure, but it’s enough to steal the show. After Tai pushes Greymon to his limits, he triggers a Digivolution. However, this is not the activation of his crest of courage as he would have hoped.
By showing negative traits, he insteadcaused Greymon to become temporarily corruptedand Digivolve into the sinister SkullGreymon. This uncontrollable monster goes on to obliterate another Greymon in a single blast and goes on a rampage.

Gatomon’s Hidden Power Awakens
When Myotismon comes to Earth in search of the eight DigiDestined, it becomes a race to see who will be able to find them first. When this DigiDestined is revealed to be Kari, Tai’s younger sister, it seems like they’ll be able to make it in time. However, evil strikes first.
After Wizardmon’s sacrifice, Kari and Gatomon obtain the Digivice and the crest of light. Suddenly,Gatomon becomes the beautiful Angewomonwho pierces Myotismon’s evil heart with an arrow infused with the power of the entire team. Now that’s how you take down a villain.
7Rapidmon
Rabbits And Mechs Combine
Terriermon appears in the Digimon movie as Willis’ partner Digimon and in Digimon Tamers as Henry’s. Both achieve this mechanized rabbit form in two distinct ways. Willis’ Terriermon does so by using the golden Digiegg. Meanwhile, Henry’s does so naturally.
Both have similar abilities. They can shoot rockets out of their cannons and move at extreme speeds. The only difference is that Willis’ Rapidmon has golden armor. Both are peak designs as they combine the best traits of an animalistic Digimon with a mech theme.
6Myotismon
Digimon’s Iconic Vampire
After Devimon is defeated, the next big villain isthe vampire, Myotismon. This ultimate Digimon is beyond evil and one of the best villains from the Digimon anime. He poses a threat by sending his underlings to stop the DigiDestined from activating their crests.
Myotismon also has no problems enslaving or killing off anyone who gets in his way. He also has more screen presence than any other villain in Digimon Adventure. Even after his underlings are gone, Myotismon simply changes the playing field by heading to Earth to enact the same evil deeds and assassinate Kari.
5Ettamon
Elvis Monkey Puts On A Show
Ettamon may be a villain that appears between Devimon and Myotismon, but this ultimate Digimon is more proactive. While some villains will sit in the darkness and let underlings do some of the heavy lifting, Ettamon is always on the ground floor, causing mayhem.
He has an Elvis-style personality and can seem like a goof-off at times. However, he is one of the few villains to Digivolve in the series. He even starts the trend of every Digimon anime killing off Leomon somewhere down the road.
4WarGrowlmon
The Little Details Of Digivolving
The cool thing about Guimon’s Digivolution line is that every stage feels like an OC. After all, Guimon himself is created from Takato’s drawings. WarGrowlmon definitely feels like a kid saw how cool WarGreymon was and decided to copy the homework.
However, just like MetalGreymon, WarGrowlmon also has one of the best Matrix Digivolution sequences in Tamers. It’s always cool when the 3D animation shows exactly how each part of Growlmon gets upgraded in the process of reaching its ultimate form. Now that’s some spicy digital details.
3MagnaAngemon
One Amazing Entrance
MagnaAngemon cheeses the fight against Piedmon with that first-episode power boost. He’s not even around for too long, but he knows how to make an entrance. When TK’s crest of hope activates near the end of the series, Angemon finally gets to Digivolve.
MagnaAngemon immediately claps Piedmon and seals him away in an alternate dimension using his Gate of Destiny. Despite not appearing as much as the other Ultimates, it’s the hype behind finally seeing him that makes him great. In Japanese, he even gets his own exclusive Digivolution theme.
2Arukenimon And Mummymon
A Villainous Duo
The Digimon Adventure 02 crew didn’t go up against that many ultimate Digimon during the Digimon Emperor’s reign. In fact, that’s a major plot point. However, with Ken gone, two ultimate Digimon appeared to take advantage of the abandoned control spires.
These are the humanoid Arukenimon and Mummymon. This duo was created by the human, Yukio Oikawa, in an attempt to infiltrate the Digital World. Both have human forms but will toss these aside when it comes time to fight. Unfortunately, they meet one of the darkest ends of any Digimon villain.

Two Awesome Digimon Combine
Combining two Digimon together is known as D.N.A Digivolution. The Digimon Adventure 02 cast doesn’t get crests but can instead fuse together to achieve the equivalent of an ultimate form. Paildramon is a fusion of ExVeemon and Stingmon.
Not only is this one of the coolest Digimon designs ever put on screen, but the fact that it has significance to the plot makes it even better. This can only be achieved when Ken and Davis come to an understanding after Ken quits being the Digimon Emperor. It symbolizes how the two can finally start being part of the same team.
