As you push deeper into the deadly lands ofV Rising, tougher enemies require you to have better gear, and that means hunting down rarer resources. One of the key materials you will start chasing midway through your vampire journey is Thick Hide, and luckily, it’s not hard to get if you know where to look.
It’s essential for upgrading your equipment, unlocking powerful armor sets, and progressing into high-tier crafting. Similar to Rugged Hide and Pristine Hide, you can obtain this material by killing certain mobs in the Dunley Farmlands and Hallowed Mountains areas, which we will discuss in more detail.
How To Get Thick Hide

All of these animalsdrop around 20 Thick Hide per kill, making them great for farming.
You can farm either region exclusively, but for the best results, start your run in Dunley Farmlands, move east, clearing farms and camps, then head into the mountains for the rarer creatures.
How To Use Thick Hide
You can’t use Thick Hide raw - you mustrefine it into Thick Leather at a Tannery. To unlock the recipe, you mustdefeat Frostmaw. After that, combine 16 Thick Hide and Oil to make one Thick Leather.
With Thick Leather in hand, you will unlock access to some awesome armor setsinV Rising, like Duskwatcher, Blood Hunter, or Dark Magus. On top of that, you also need it for crafting Cloth, Empty Waterskins, and even a Vampire Horse Saddle.
