While playingGenshin Impact, you’re able to consistently get new characters from the limited character banner as the game gets updated often. However, most of these characters are usually shown one or more updates before in the main story to build up the hype for them, especially if they belong to an existing region.

However, Skirk has received some special treatment here as she was first shown back at the finale of Fontaine’s main story arc. After over a year’s wait, she’s finally playable as a five-star Cryo character, and she can destroy everything in her path once you build her properly.

S+ Tier

Even though Skirk isn’t a Natlan-based character, she was still released in the update series for this region, which came with its mobility benefits in the open world. When you hold Skirk’s Elemental Skill,it puts you in a special mode where you’re able to move around the mapwith high movement speed, and you can fly on water in this mode.

Outside of that, Skirk doesn’t follow the conventional energy system and can essentiallydeal high damage in every rotation even without any teammates, which makes her aphenomenal character for exploration. Outside of the open world, she’s also the best Cryo character you’re able to use in any endgame mode since she can casually dish out over 150,000 damage.

While the damage mentioned above is easily achieved in her premium team, you can still achieve it with her F2P teamin the right build.

Skirk’s kit has quite a lot to unpack, but her usage in combat is far simpler than you’d expect.

Skirk’s Kit, Explained

Skirk’s normal attack talent is largely useless, but she still deals a lot of normal attack damage from other abilities:

You can find thegeneral rotation of Skirk’s attacksin the team section below.

Skirk’s Constellations, Explained

If you’re going deeper into the gacha with Skirk andgetting her constellations, here are the buffs you can expect to get:

Skirk Talent Priority

Much like every other character in Genshin Impact, Skirk also has a total of three talents that you can upgrade: normal attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst. However, as mentioned above, her normal attack is largely uselesssince the multipliers for her Cryo-infused attacks exist separately in the Elemental Skill itself.

You can completely ignore her normal attacks when it comes to upgrading. On the other hand, herElemental Skill takes the priority for upgrades since she deals most of her damage from this. You can upgrade her Burst right after.

Best Skirk Weapons

Weapons are a crucial part of Skirk since she gets a ton of bonuses from them, but you have to use the right sword to boost her damage. For Skirk, the best weapon is undoubtedly her signature called Azurelight. However, you have a ton of other options based on the availability of your account:

Azurelight

Five-Star

Apart from the 22.1 percent Crit Rate from the secondary stat of this weapon,Skirk can also get up to 48 percent ATK and 40 percent Crit DMGfor free after you use her Elemental Skill, making this weapon the best choice for her.

Mistsplitter Reforged

Since Skirk gets a lot of free Crit Rate from certain artifacts and the Cryo synergy, the Crit DMG from this weapon is highly useful for her. Outside of that, you can easily get another 40 percent Elemental DMG bonusfrom it.

Haran Geppaku Futsu

This is another decent five-star option for Skirk as it can give her a massive Crit Rate boost apart from abunch of Elemental DMG bonus and normal attack DMG.

Calamity of Eshu

Four-Star

If you have this weapon from its limited-time event, it serves as the best F2P choice for Skirk since it gives you abunch of normal and charged attack DMG apart from some ATK and Crit Rate.

However, you need to have a shielder on your team for this to work.

The Black Sword

you may acquire this sword from the battle pass, and it also gives you a normal and charged attack DMG bonusoutside of some Crit Rate.

Blackcliff Longsword

Finally, if you don’t have any of the above weapons, this sword is your best option for Skirk.

Best Skirk Artifacts

When you have two or four pieces of the same artifact set on Skirk, you’re able to get certain bonuses, but only some specific bonus effects suit her well:

Synergy With Skirk

Finale of the Deep Galleries

This set is tailor-made for Skirk and serves as her best in slot for the most part. It can give her a15 percent Cryo DMG bonus and up to 60 percent normal attack and Burst DMG.

The Havoc: Extinction Burst doesn’t deal any damage, which prevents the normal attack DMG bonus from this setfrom going away.

Marechaussee Hunter

This set comes in a very close second with Skirkif you’re using her with Furina. It cangive you up to 36 percent Crit Rateand 15 percent normal and charged attack DMG.

Blizzard Strayer

you may also use this set to getsome Cryo DMG Bonus and free Crit Rate on Skirk. However, it’s not as good when fighting bosses since they can’t be frozen.

Gladiator’s Finale

Finally, if you don’t have any of the above sets ready, you can also use Gladiator’s Finale toget some ATK and normal attack DMG boost.

Skirk Artifact Stat Priority

Apart from being a Crit-based DPS, Skirk can be particularly hard to build the perfect artifact stats onbecause of how much free Crit Rate she can get in certain instances. For example, if you’re using her signature weapon and the Marechaussee Hunter set, you already get 73 percent Crit Rate on her for free:

This isapart from the five percent Crit Ratethat every character starts with.

This leaves very little room for Crit Rate from her artifacts themselves, forcing you to focus on Crit DMG and other stats. To avoid this, you should always be using her tailor-made set with the signature weaponor any other weapon with Crit Rate as the secondary stat. With that in mind, here are the artifact stats you should look for:

Skirk, Xingqiu, Chongyun, Dahlia

Rosaria

As mentioned above, Skirk is constricted to having only Hydro and Cryo characters in her team to get the highest damage bonus from her passive abilities. However, this leaves you with few options and only acouple of specific characters to get the highest valuefrom her. These characters areessentially Shenhe, Escoffier, Furina, Citlali, and Yelan.

The first three characters will provide themost buffs to her including DMG bonus, ATK, and Cryo RES shred. However,Yelan can be used instead of Furinato get a similar buff from the Elemental Burst and Citlali can be used as the sustainer of the team if you don’t have Escoffier, though she won’t give many boosts to Skirk herself.

It’s important touse at least one Hydro characterin the team for the Frozen reaction.

If you don’t have these premium five-star characters to use with Skirk, you can replace them with Chongyun, Dahlia, and Xingqiu. If you want to use the F2P sword on Skirk,Dahlia will fit the team perfectly as he can increase her ATK SPD and provide her the required shield. Chongyun can also increase Skirk’s ATK SPD here with the second constellation.

Here’s what your rotation with Skirk should look like for her premium team:

You can change this rotation a bit to fit your team if you’re replacing any characters, but thegeneral idea is to start triggering Frozen as soon as possible.
