Aggretsuko is a bit of an underrated Sanrio character, but for many of us, she is quite relatable. As a 25-year-old office worker (in the accounting department), Retsuko faces the typical problems of the modern world, which often send her into an angry spiral.

Mewkledreamy is an absolutely adorable Sanrio character created in 2017. Three years after this, she got her own show that is aclassic magical girl anime. In it, Mew falls from the sky and meets Yume. Mew isn’t just an ordinary cat though; she can enter dreams.

Overall, Mewkledreamy is a wholesome and cute show that is surprisingly funny and incredibly well-animated. While Mewkledreamy is episodic in terms of the plot, you can still expect an engaging show that will leave you feeling relaxed.

5Show By Rock!!

Show By Rock!! originally started out as arhythm mobile game, similar to Bang Dream. Since then, it received its own anime, following a girl named Cyan who is basically isakai’d into a rhythm game world where music is everything.

In Show By Rock!!, you may expect to see an over-the-top, music-filled world with tons of different bands. The characters in Show By Rock!! aren’t Sanrio characters in the classic sense, but Sanrio had a part in the design, and they are officially part of the Sanrio character poll.

4Jewel Pets

Jewel Pets is an adorable magical pet show that features, well… Jewel Pets. While Jewel Pets may be intended for children, it definitely has the nostalgic and cozy vibe. The first Jewel Pets anime aired from 2009 to 2019; since then, several new series have aired as well.

Overall, Jewel Pets is good, lighthearted fun that focuses on little pets named after jewels, such as Ruby (who is a rabbit). Sit back, relax, and watch these pets team up with humans in a magical girl-esque way!

3Hello Kitty’s Furry Tale Theater

Hello Kitty’s Furry Tale Theater is a bit of an older show, airing back in 1987. This isn’t a typical Sanrio show though; each episode is essentially a theater play, starting out with everyone finding their seats. From there, the play will begin. What are the plays, you ask? They are actually just parodies of real media.

Cat Wars, Kitty and the Kong, Snow White Kitty and the One Dwarf, Catula, and Frankencat are just a handful of the plays put on, featuring a cast of Sanrio characters. The final episode is even called The Phantom of the Theater, which is the only episode to not take place on the stage.

2Sugarbunnies

With a name like Sugarbunnies, you can expect this anime to feature some serious candy-making. This show features Shirousa and Kurousa, who like to make pastries. Of course, there are other bunnies involved, as 14 were transported from their world to the human world.

After being isekai’d here, the bunnies Sophia, who also dreams of becoming a pastry chef; it’s like a match made in heaven! This is another anime aimed at younger kids, but it’s still adorable.

1Onegai My Melody

Last but not least, we have Onegai My Melody. This show follows My Melody and a human named Yumeno Uta, who she teams up with in typical magical girl fashion in order to protect dreams from Kuromi, who is trying to turn them into nightmares.

In addition to My Melody, this show features some other Sanrio characters, including My Sweet Piano. Overall, there are a whopping 52 episodes of original run for Onegai My Melody, but you can also watch KuruKuru Shuffle, Sukkiri, Kirara, and a movie called Yu & Ai.
