You won’t have other Nightlord relics to help you here, so you’ll need to rely on randomly-rolled relics to best this boss. As such,be on the lookout for relics that grant holy damage to your starting armament. Gladius, the boss of this expedition, is extremely weak to holy damage, so bringing a weapon with guaranteed holy damage should trivialize this fight—just be sure to upgrade your starting weapon during the first two nights.
Bring a relic withfire damage negation upto reduce the lethality of Gladius' breath attacks.
If you’re farming this boss for relics or achievement runs, you may use theNight of the Fathomrelic from the Augur fight to drastically increase your HP and heal nearby allies whenever you use Estus. Ironeye mains can also run theEdge of Orderremembrance relic to spawn with a holy damage bow.

There is a copious amount of running in this fight, so you’ll want to bringrelics that improve your Endurance statfor extra stamina. You’ll also want to bring an item thatshares itme benefits with alliesif you own one. Each player can purchase turtle necks from the merchant NPC just before the boss to increase the team’s stamina recharge rate for a short duration. If all three players share item benefits, the constant running in this fight won’t leave you out of stamina for long.
The Gnoster boss in theSentient Pest expeditionishighly vulnerable to fire damage. You’ll want to bring a fire weapon with you to ignite the moth creature during the fight, as doing so will trigger a unique stagger animation. If you’re looking for an alternative, we suggestpoison or scarlet rot damageinstead. This boss has multiple mechanics where it’ll stand in place for a few seconds while spells attack you.
