Clair Obscur: Expedition 33gives you plenty of freedom to build each of your party members to suit your play style, but even with impressive versatility, certain skills stand out as the top damage dealers. You can build any character to deal damage, but it’s clear that someone like Maelle was designed with damage in mind, so she’s arguably your best damage-dealing option.

Even though Maelle stands out as the best damage dealer in the game thanks to her best skill, you still have options to deal damage from multiple sources. Void damage stands out as the best general damage type, so skills with this typing are superior.

Verso’s Phantom Stars in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

All enemies

Can Break

Five

Verso might not be your first choice of character to lead your party as the damage dealer, given thatyou’ve likely been building Maelle from the start, but he offers a solid option for your second team if your initial squad falls in battle.

However, if you’re veering away from using Maelle and would ratherlean into Verso’s versatility and technical attributes, like inflicting Burn, then he can do a job for you.Phantom Starshits all enemies, and while the spread damage could be better, the ability to Break any of your foes can be a huge help for skipping their turns.

Lune’s Elemental Genesis in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Four

Lune’s best damage skill isElemental Genesis, which boasts the lowest AP cost of the top damage-dealing options. However, the tradeoff to this low cost is the Stain requirement, which can be mitigated if youbuild Lune to lean into applying Stains.

However,Lune’s best weapon, Trebuchim,is perfectly suited to this playstyle, so you can easily meet the requirements to use this skill.

Maelle’s Pyrolyse in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Nine

Pyrolysemight not be Maelle’s best damage skill, but it’s a top placeholder choice while you wait to unlock her best skill in the late game. While the sheer damage from the attacks themselves is solid, the real bonus here is the burn damage.

UsingMedalum, Maelle’s best weapon also increases the Burns she will apply and increases the damage the opponent receives from each turn that they burn. Don’t underestimate how quickly this additional damage over time can add up.

Verso’s End Bringer in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

End Bringeris Verso’s other top-tier damage option, which is one of the best Physical damage skills in the game. In addition to the six hits and the extreme Physical damage, Verso will excel at keeping foes stunned and inflicting serious damage.

This skill’s chance to reapply Stun not only allows Verso to hurt the opponent even more, but it also forces that foe to skip their turn again, keeping Verso alive. In this case, the best defense for Verso really is a good offensive strategy to keep the pressure on.

Sciel’s Final Path in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Another nine AP cost skill rears its head, as Sciel’sFinal Pathstands out thanks to its impressive damage and beneficial set of additional effects. Applying Foretell while doing damage is a huge benefit, and even if Sciel isn’t prepared to inflict a lot of damage right away, the Foretell helps set up for the next turn.

This skill can also Break the foe, which will enable you to squeeze in extra turns of damage, and use a combination with Verso’s End Bringer to deal damage without retaliation.

Monoco’s Creation Void in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

‘Extreme Void damage’ is one of the most beautiful phrases in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, asCreation Voidclaims the crown as Monoco’s best damage skill.

Since enemies will always receive maximum damage from Void attacks, it ensures that you won’t have to worry about enemies resisting your damage and nullifying your strategy. Even though this attack can hit multiple enemies, it’s best used when only one remains, thanks to the increased damage from repeated hits.

Sciel’s Twilight Dance in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Twilight Danceis an incredibly strong damage skill thanks to its bonus effects, which help Sciel to capitalize on her Twilight turns and extend their benefits.

Twilight doubles the Foretell applied, increases max Foretell from ten to 20, and increases damage depending on the Sun and Moon charges consumed.

Maelle’s Stendhal in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

The extended duration of Twilight is fantastic for applying more Foretell and eventually lets you finish with this attack for maximum damage.

Eight

Stendhalis one of the few skills with a drawback, and the only one with two negative extra effects. However, despite the lack of extra bonuses, the sheer power of this skill more than compensates for the drawbacks.

Stendhal is the undisputed best damage-dealing skillin Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, andit’s not even close.Even though this skill’s damage was nerfed in a patch, it remains head and shoulders above its competition and can easily one-shot most enemies. Try it out for yourself and enjoy your newfound power thanks to the best skill in the game.
