After spending a bunch of time in Jinzhou while playingWuthering Waves, you get to journey over to Rinascita, where you learn the story about the second Sentinel and the secrets being hidden from the wider world. During this journey, you meet a beautiful resonator called Cartethyia, and you even get to spend a lot of time with her.
With the Version 2.4 update, Cartethyia also gets added to the playable character roster as a five-star Aero unit utilizing Aero Erosion for massive damage. However, if you want to get the most value from her kit, you’ll need some specific weapons, echoes, and team members for her build.
Best Cartethyia Weapons
As the second resonator directly belonging to a sentinel, Cartethyia was bound to have a lot of unique capabilities like being able to switch to anentirely different character, using Aero Erosion for increasing her damage, and scaling on HP. However, these distinct aspects also lead to a reduction in the overall choices for your weapon.
Most weapons in Wuthering Waves either give you ATK Percent or some type of DMG bonus that she doesn’t need. Of course,Cartethyia’s best weapon will always be her signature called the Defier’s Thorn. Outside of this weapon, you only have a few other choices, and the overall value you get decreases heavily for the standard five-star or the F2P choice:
Defier’s Thorn
Five-Star
If you manage to pull Cartethyia’s signature weapon, it’ll give you more buffs than you can get from any other. Simply by equipping it on Cartethyia, you alreadyget 72.2 percent HP from the main stat and another 12 percentfrom the passive.
Outside of that, you may ignore eight percent of the enemy’s DEF whilemaking them take an extra 20 percent DMGsince you’ll largely attack enemies with Aero Erosion on them.
Red Spring
This weapon can be a decent substitute for Carthetyia as it gives you 24.3 percent Crit Rate alongside anadded 30 percent Basic Attack DMG bonus. However, the ATK Percent it provides is useless for her.
If you build Cartethyia’s Concerto circle fast enough, you can also use her Outro skill and switch instantlyback to her to get another 40 percent Basic Attack DMG.
Unflickering Valor
You can also use Unflickering Valor to get a ton of stats that Cartethyia desiresstarting from the Energy Regen and Crit Rate just by being equipped. You can also get up to 48 percent Basic Attack DMG bonus with this.
Emerald of Genesis
As a standard Five-Star weapon, you can eventually get this for Cartethyia from the standard weapon banner if you don’t have it already. However, thevalue you get from it will be significantly reducedfrom the three above.
It gives you 24.3 percent Crit Rate and 12.8 percent Energy Regen after being equipped. However, as with Red Spring, the ATK boost you get from it is useless for Cartethyia.
Guardian Sword
Three-Star
Finally, if you don’t have any of the above weapons, your only choice is touse this three-star sword to get some HPfrom its main stat while building Cartethyia.
Cartethyia Echo Guide
The hardest aspect of Wuthering Waves is figuring out thebest echo sets, main echoes, and echo lineup for Cartethyia. While you have some obvious choices, you might be early in the game and won’t be able to farm the best sets for her. While building Cartethyia, your aim should be to get theWindward Pilgrimage set with Reminiscence: Fleurdelys as the main echoas these are her best choices.
Best Cartethyia Echo Sets
Windward Pilgrimage
This set provides Carthetyia up to40 percent Aero DMG Bonus and ten percent Crit Rate, which you’ll always have as long as the enemy has Aero Erosion.
Gusts of Welkin
You should only use this set on Cartethyiaif you don’t have it on any of her teammates, but she gets more value from the above set. If used on Cartethyia, you’re able to get the 40 percent Aero DMG boost from it.
Sierra Gale
Finally, if you’re still in the early game and can’t farm the above sets just yet, your best bet is to use Sierra Gale on her as you canget another 40 percent Aero DMG Bonus from this too.
Best Cartethyia Main Echoes
The main echoes are the echoes youequip in the biggest slot of Cartethyia’s echo screen, and here are the choices for all the sets where you get the most value:
Reminiscence: Fleurdelys
you’re able to get anadditional 20 percent Aero DMG Bonuson Cartethyia by having this echo as the main one.
Nightmare: Feilian Beringal
While you’re able to’t use this echo’s skill fully,the 12 percent Aero DMG Bonus from it makes it the bestif you’re using Sierra Gale on Cartethyia. However, if you can’t get this echo, you can also use the normal Feilian Beringal for the same effect.

One thing to remember about Cartethyia is thatyou’d want to use a four - four - one - one - one echo sequence on her. She doesn’t need any Aero DMG Bonus or Energy Regen that you’d get from the three cost echoes since the latter just isn’t required and you get a lot of the former from other areas:
Ciaccona also increases theAero Erosion DMG by 100 percentfrom her Outro.
Cartethyia F2P Team
Cartethyia, Sanhua, Aero Rover
While there might not be a big difference between Cartethyia’s best and F2P team since you only replace Ciaccona with Sanhua,the overall value you get will decrease significantly. Still, you’ll get the most value from Sanhua in this team since the massive Basic Attack DMG boost she provides with the Outro Skill can be utilized fully by Cartethyia.
As mentioned above, Ciaccona is the best sub-DPS teammate for Cartethyia as she canprovide 24 percent Aero DMG and 100 percent Aero Erosion DMG bonus to her. Since Cartethyia has a big part of her kit relating to the Aero Erosion damage taken by the enemies, this works out much better than it seems on paper.
Aero Rover is also the best sustainer of the team as she canincrease the maximum number of Aero Erosion stackson the enemy.
With that in mind, here’s what the rotation for your Cartethyia team will look like:
Whimpering Wastes
S+ Tier
It’s not a surprise that a Sentinel’s resonatoropens up with the highest possible tier ratings in everything. However, the main catch with Cartethyia is that her best build is quite elite, andrequires you to pull for a five-star signature weaponof either herself, Camellya, or Brant. However, once you have these weapons, you’re able to destroy anything with her.
Most of Cartethyia’s damage comes from her basic attacks in both her Cartethyia and Fleurdelys forms. However,reading through her kit can make it seem quite complicated. In reality, her kit is fairly simple and here is a better explanation of all the important parts:
Cartethyia Attack Combination
Cartethyia’s actual attack combination in battle is much simpler than the kit makes it seem. You enter the field withCartethyia’s Intro Skill and then use their basic attacks to form the first two swords. After that, simply use your Resonance Skill and a basic attack right after to form the third sword and consume them all.
Next, you can use switch to Fleurdelys by using her Resonance Liberation and start by pressing her Resonance Skill twice. After that,use her heavy attack by holding the basic attack button and then press it right afterto use the second heavy attack. Once you’ve done that, you can just basic attack until your Resonance Liberation bar fills up.
Once the Liberation is ready, use her buffed Resonance Liberation andthen you can repeat the team cycle.
To summarize, here’s the order of attacks you have to use:
Cartethyia
Intro Skill - Basic Attack x3 - Heavy Attack - Resonance Skill - Basic Attack - Resonance Liberation
Fleurdelys
Resonance Skill x2 - Heavy Attack - Basic Attack until your Liberation is ready - Resonance Liberation - switch to Aero Rover with Outro Skill
You can use her echo skill somewhere in between these attacks but youdon’t need to since using it doesn’t provide any extra buffs.
Cartethyia Trace Upgrade Priority
Cartethyia is quite a resource-intensive charactersince you largely have to upgrade all of her abilities. you may do so in the following order:
If you want to save some resources, youcan ignore her Resonance Skill and Intro Skill after level six or eight. Outside of the main abilities, it’s highly recommended tounlock her Inherent Skills and all other nodesas soon as possible.
