While pulling on the Derby Scout inUmamusume: Pretty Derby, you have a three percent chance of getting a three-star horse girl. There’s an equal chance to get most of the characters on the banner, and Taiki Shuttle is one of them. As an early player, she can be one of the best characters to have.
This is because she works with not only various distance types, but can also be built for different types of tracks. However, you’ll have to carefully choose your stats and support cards depending on your end goal with her.

When you choose a character for your next career run, the main things you look at are their distance and style ratings.When a rating for a certain distance or style is A or above, the character gets a buff when they play in them. However, a B rating makes them neutral while anything lower debuffs them instead.
With that in mind, it’s clear that you’re able to onlybuild Taiki Shuttle as a Pace Chaser on either the Sprint or Mile distance. You can also do both since the maindifference between these distances will be your skills, as the stats you need for them both stay roughly the same. However, most of Taiki’s career races involve Mile distances.
While you don’t need to build a character based on their career races, it’s stillimportant to make them good enough so you can beat them.
If you may’t beat a specific career race,your run will be terminated prematurely, essentially wasting 30 TP.
Other than her ratings, Taiki Shuttlealso has a unique skill called Shooting for Victory!This ability lets her massively boost her power if positioned well on the final corner of the race. With a few upgrades during the career, this skill can single-handedly help her cross a bunch of players and reach the finish line first.
You can upgrade your unique skill by having aspecific number of fans at a certain point in your Senior Year.

Being a derby that mainly runs in small distances like Spring and Mile,Stamina easily becomes the least important stat for Taiki Shuttle, making it the lowest priority. While doing the career run with her, you don’t even have to upgrade her Stamina outside of a couple of times in the first year when it has a bunch of support cards.
This is also reflected in her base stats since Stamina is her lowest. Other than that,Speed and Power are her highest base stats followed closely by Guts and Wit. She has a 20 and ten percent Growth rate in Speed and Wit respectively, which makes her a lot better than you think since Speed is her most important stat.
Growth Rate essentially helps youget extra points in a stat when they’re involved in a training, and they stack up with your support cards.
If you want your Taiki Shuttle to be able to beat other players in PvP, it’s highly recommended to reach the maximum Speed with over 400 Wit. The former will let you stay ahead in the racewhile the latter massively boosts your chances of activating skills. With that, you’ll need around 500 Power, which you can easily get while leveling up your Speed.
Taiki Shuttle Legacy Recommendations
Unfortunately, while Taiki has a lot of things that make her a high-tier character, her legacies aren’t the greatest. Shedoesn’t have a good affinity with most of the charactersyou can get during the early game, which reduces the overall impact your Legacy has. However, this will improve with time as more characters are released.
While choosing her Legacy, youonce again want to mainly focus on Speed, Power, and Wit. A bit of Guts can also be good but it’s not necessary. If you’re in the early game, you can try to follow other people and use their Legacy cards, which will effectively give your Legacies a permanent boost.
Taiki Shuttle Best Skills
Skills are one of the most important parts of building your character in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, even though it won’t seem like it at the start. Most of the skillshelp you get a boost to a certain type of stat when the situations are met. Some skills are only activated for a certain distance and style while others are generally available for everyone.
For Taiki Shuttle, you’d want amixed bag of general, Pace Chaser, and your preferred distance skills. you may also use some debuff skills to affect other races, though thesedon’t give you high points for the career rankand might prevent you from reaching A or higher. This green skill increases your performance when at least five other runners are using the same style as you. While it might seem very situational, it’sgreat for Taiki since Pace Chaser is the most popular stylein the game.
Pace Strategy
While you don’t need any Stamina skills on her, you cantake this one to have a bit of regenerationwhen you pass another player just to have an easier time for her career.
Straightaway Adept
These skills are phenomenal on every character in the game since the former increases yourPower on a straight and the latter during the last spurt, which is where she crosses the Front Runners.
Homestretch Haste
Prepared to Pass
This is arguably the most valuable skill for Pace Chasers asit increases your Guts on the final corner, letting you pass other units.
Sprint/Mile Straightaways
Depending on the distance you want to use her in, theseabilities can stack up with the general onesand give you a higher boost.

Whenever you’re going through a career run in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you’ll always have a unique experience with each character because of the RNG and different events. However, theSupport Cards you use with them might be similar based on their distance and style types. Here are some of the best cards for Taiki:
Biko Pegasus (Double Carrot Punch)
Speed
This card not only helps you achieve the high Speed requirement on her stats, but alsogivesyou a ton of Sprint/Mile skills for your build. Keep in mind that you get higher points for your run with these specific skills.
Kitasan Black (Fire at My Heels)
This is a phenomenal generic card that not only has a high chance of appearing in the right training, but also gives you some good general skills like amassive increase in Power on a skilled corner turning.
Tokai Teio (Dream Big!)
ThisTokai Teio cardhas some great skills for Pace Chasers including the ability to increase navigation late-race, which essentially increases your Guts at the end and your chances to pass other racers.
El Condor Pasa (Champion’s Passion)
Power
While this is a great card for the Power stat, it can be a little RNG-based for Taiki sinceit has both Medium and Pace Chaser skills, and the former are useless for her.
Vodka (Wild Rider)
This is another phenomenal card for Taiki as ithas a ton of Mile and general skills.
Fine Motion (Wave of Gratitude)
Wit
Finally, this card is already phenomenal for any character in the game, and itworks especially well with Taikisince she needs as high Wit as possible.
The best Support Card deck for Taiki involvesfour Speed, one Power/Guts, and one Wit card.
